Just after dawn. When it popped into mind, I couldn’t help but write it!

Leaning against the tree, he glanced down to pull the blanket over her; it had fallen below her shoulders.
Her cheek twitched in the moonlight; her nose crinkled. Gently, he eased the dark strands of hair that had fallen over her forehead and were tickling her nose.
A contented sigh escaped into the night.
He dug into the picnic basket once more and withdrew an apple. A blossom floated to the ground, gilded silver by moonlight and he bit into the apple, smiling at its sweet juiciness. Suddenly, he was thwacked by a waving arm and he dropped his apple on the grass. Muttering to himself, he picked it up after gently guiding her arm under the blanket.
Crinkling his nose, he tossed the now dirty apple into the basket and pulled out his pipes; a Faun wouldn’t sneak out in the night without them!
Soon, soft music beckoned the stars from the sky and danced with the moon.
