Title: Not risking life, limb or $200 shoes.

Time Period: Any time during seasons 1-3.
Summary: Gus wasn’t falling for any of Shawn’s tricks. Again.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

This is simply meant to be silly and fun. If the characters aren’t quite right, I apologise in advance; I’ve just begun watching episodes of Psych again!

“Gus, around the puddle!”

“What’re you goin’ on about Shawn?”

“Go around the puddle, Gus! Around the puddle!”

Gus stared. Suspiciously.

“Now isn’t the time for trust issues to start comin’ out! Just go around the puddle!”

“Now is the perfect time, Shawn!” Gus folded his arms. “I’m not risking two hundred dollar shoes, or my suit, just because you say to go around a puddle! I’ll just end up in the one next to it! Or lose my shoes in the mud!”

“Just trust me!” The sound of the pursuing dogs was closer. “Go around that puddle! Go through the other puddles if you have to but not that one!”

Gus regarded Shawn steadily. The barking of the dogs was ever closer ...

Later, in interrogation room A
“I told you to go around that puddle!”

“I wasn’t going to risk my clothes or shoes, Shawn. Again.”

“Are you still going on about that? We were eight, Gus. Eight.”

“Gentlemen!”

Shawn paid instant attention. “Yes chief?”

“Someone better explain to me why they were caught on private property of one of the wealthiest and influential men in Santa Barbara.”

“You see, chief,” Shawn began, “it was like this ...”
