It feels rare for her to sit still like this so it had to be done!

Pulling the blanket tightly about her, she sits on the porch step and cradles her mug, warm between her hands. Knees up, the mug is balanced in her lap before she takes a mouthful and waits.
It won't take long, she reasons; she can smell the air and it smells. Like.
Snow.
A breeze lazily drifts through trees. Clouds gather overhead. The moon peeks briefly through the clouds. All is dark, quiet. Another mouthful of liquid from her mug and the blanket is tugged up; she'd forgotten it was there.
A cat walks past, tail in the air and she grins; another successful night of tomcating done, she thinks. But, the thought occurs, was it really tomcatting if both parties agreed to the encounter? And how did she know that was a male cat? It could be a female coming home from a night on the prowl!
Another mouthful of warm liquid calms her mind and she realises she likes the silence. No rush no answering the phone or neighbours's questions about everything. No rushing to get herself dressed and ready. No … anything, really. She has time to sit and enjoy her thoughts. She likes everything about her waking hours but sometimes it was needed to sit and enjoy the ---
Snow!
Sitting bolt upright, the blanket falling askew from her shoulders, she watches the snow twirl lazily to the ground. Holding her mug to her lips with her knees pulled up even further than they originally were, she watches as the snow falls into bushes and trees. Nothing disrupts the snow falling; a hush settles, disturbed only by the falling snow.
Snowshoes and sleighs and skiis and beanies and scarves will have to be ordered and kept out so people can enjoy them. More wood would have to be ordered. Gingerbread and hot chocolate has to be made available and ----
That, she decides, can be thought about and done later. For now?
