Title: A valuable gift.
Fandom: Chronicles of Narnia (movie)
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe: Lucy’s first visit with Mister Tumnus.
Summary: Mr Tumnus decides.
Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the
F. A. Q.).
I’ve never touched this moment except once, in
Cherished moments of a journey and the afterward, in
He knows he did right.
But, even then, I never really touched upon the decision of letting Lucy go, how her cry affected him, warming his heart. I’ve probably not done a very good job of it here, though! But it was worth a try!

He feels a pang in his heart.

Here his mind fails and his heart steps in, giving him the word he lacked.
Friend. He’d not had one in so long he’d forgotten what it was to have one. The warmth that floods through him is unfamiliar but ever so welcomed. He jumps to his hooves, ignoring the cold and the dark for they hold him no longer.
He would prove worthy of the valuable gift she gives him.
“We must be quick and careful. Even some of the trees are on her side!”
