Summary: Silence shouldn’t lie between them.

This was supposed to be a funny scene featuring completely different characters; instead, I wrote this. Maybe I should write the beginning of the relationship shown here?

On either side of the corridor they stand. People pass between them: Senators, aides, Senate guards and Jedi.
It should not end like this; the knowledge lies unspoken in each heart. But they both knew it would; it should, they know, have never begun. Words should be said; there should be no endless silence between them but this distance is easiest.
And hardest because words bubble up from the stillness, the quiet, within. Unsaid, but there.
Her chin uplifts; her elbow is jostled and she looks to who had done it. When she looks back, he is gone.
“Goodbye.”
An almost silent whisper and she turns to face Captain Typho who has, finally, found her.
