He slides into bed with a sigh and snuggles under blankets and between sheets. A real bed.
His bed.
With his pillows.
He closes his eyes and another contented sigh joins the first. His eyelids droop, his breathing evens, his thoughts slow.
Tomorrow, he thinks. Tomorrow, he’ll deal with Lobelia. Tomorrow, he’ll see about chasing down his belongings and returning money. Tomorrow, he’ll make a list of what was sold. Tomorrow. All.
Tomorrow.
He yawns, his mouth wide and cavernous, and rolls over. A-to-
His thoughts halt. His eyes close. The blankets engulf. A snore rumbles around the room.
