Lamb figuratively means victim in the same way in English--sacraficial lamb, you know. I would say that it's an error to say that 羔羊 means victim. It means lamb, and in some contexts lamb signifies a victim or an innocent metaphorically.
In these kind of cases I think it's better to give the literal translation and let the metaphor speak for itself, when it's a metaphor that English also has.
Thanks! I wasn't sure if the metaphor would speak for itself. I thought perhaps the figurative meaning was so prevalent it became a meaning - since it is listed as a definition. I was thinking of it like the English word "pawn" in that respect. But of course, I'm so far removed from a native speaker that I would have no clue about this. In any case, I think it's a great song. Thanks for your help!
We might not look cool but we have a good time haha. I took a sick day yesterday to sleep this cold off and I suspect that my head ached a little worse after listening to this album because of all the involuntary headbanging that was going on.
Girl Friend-You are the best. I love these guys too!! I am spazing as I type this. I am trying hard not to scream since I am in a public cafe while listening to their music. Again, them deep vocals get me. I am loving the second song you posted, "Unscathed"-it is truly wicked. I know my son is going to love them too. Thank you so much, your picks always end up being my fav. I wished this type of music would become popular here. I think asian music (especially indie/underground) is the best music being produced at this time. They have some really talented artist and it is seems really fresh. American music at this time seems like it is just the same stuff over and over again, just with a twist.
YAY!!! I'm so happy you like them! I know half of my spazz was just because I've been searching for anything from them for MONTHS & MONTHS. These indie bands really struggle to get an album out... heck they struggle just to keep playing, I'm sure.
Unscathed reminds me a lot of Nirvana. I love it. There are several good songs on the album. I don't think there are any that I don't like. I think your son will really like it too!
Weeee it's so fun to share! AND I have more hahaha. I'm telling you I found another great artist this week - a DJ/MC reggae trip-hop artist from Shanghai. I'll get HER stuff up real soon. I can't keep up with all the good music!
OMG-I can't wait to hear it!!! I love reggae/trip-hop. HeHeHe. I am soooo excited. Makes my weekend brighter despite the prediction of rain and more rain.LOL
I hope they do too! They're playing MAO Beijing on 4/3 with this brand new cd. I hope word spreads. They're a lot of fun (for me) to watch - each of the members have their own cool vibe. I think they could go far. Enjoy the album!

I went with the more figurative meaning. It seemed to me to fit with the lyrics. Of course, I could be wrong.
