I nearly choked today when I FINALLY found this cd.  Not kidding.  There was much gasping and screaming and I am finding it hard not to type in all caps right now.  *deep breath*

Maya is an indie rock band from Beijing.  They formed back in 2005 with members that came from AK47, Demon, and Red Maya.  In 2006 they released a LQ "underground" EP that I gradually grew to like very much after watching videos of their energetic performances.  And a year or so ago they added a 5th member, a female guitarist who rocks.  They ALL ROCK!

After searching for months, today I just happened to stumble on their 摇滚青春 Rock & Roll Youth album.  After many delays, I think it was released sometime this year, not sure...

Maya's style is grunge rock, punk, pop-metal.  Here's a video of Maya performing the song that started my obsession,  沉默羔羊. (沉默羔羊 is also the Chinese title of the movie Silence of the Lambs.)  You have to watch the whole thing to see the extent of their awesomeness.  (See the guy at 4:01.  He looks just like me when I listen to this song haha.)
