I was debating on leaving LJ, but I was excited about the great day I had,and decided to share it with my journal.I was applying for a job at a local body shop, and I ran into one of my dads old school running buds ( Read more... )

I'm still keeping a watchful eye on the challenger.. I'd like to see that one put a dent in Ford's Mustang sales and give Ma MOpar a bit of pride again.. as much as they try, even with the charger daytona, they need something less pedestrian.. 2 doors.. cheap enough for the wannabes, SRT-8 for the heavy hitters.. And everything in between.. Sort of like the old barracudas used to be.. in 68 you could get your barracuda with a /6, 318, 340, and 383.. I'm sure if you paid the right people you could even get a 440 in there.. (If memory serves correctly, it was 69 when they offered the M-code 440 barracudas).. But, that price tag went from mild-to-wild and everyone was happy.. Maybe in today's one-size-fits-all world that isn't possible anymore.. But, cars were certainly more exciting when you had choices!

I agree choices, to mismatch is what made a car unique. I have heard my dad talk of stories of old muscle cars, and how that all were not created equal. This Daytona R/T was like a best of the best in the options department.I am talking like $700 a month payments. So,there is no way I would want to go and try to purchase one ,right now.Maybe, after I am out of college, and few years down the road, IF they release the Challenger, or who knows, maybe even a Dodge Coronet, or Sebring, or Plymouth promo. Roadrunner or possible even a new Muscle car that is in the works that will have all us mopar fans ready to take on the Camarlow's and Mustwangs, again. Robert

When it comes to Mopars, I am very passionate ! I think the ideas that come out of Chrysler, although not always popular with some people, were direct genuis.Mopars aren't always made for the real world, being very inventive and sparking new ideas, but they helped to create the Real world when it comes to Muscle cars. Any guy or gal that discredits Mopars, opens my mind to another ideal, that they dont know jack, lol.
Hemi-sperica; combustion chambers, rod angles, bore too stroke ratios, and red lines, torque versus horsepower and gears and manipulation of mechanics were all brilliant ideas or Early Chrysler's engenuity.
