Camera? Unresolved.

I am thinking of getting a new camera.  I am sold on the idea of getting a nice SLR that is big enough to be comfy in the hand, has OK resolution, is fairly fast, and can be adjusted in ways I don' t yet understand.  I'll get a nice ultrawide lens for to take weird pictures, and maybe a nice standard zoom for to wander around and take pictures of ( Read more... )

Oh, my friend, DO NOT QUIT.

Cody's a Nikon kid, saving his dough for a D90. I'll get his D40. I like the camera, but then I'm not choosy.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I need to change the way I think about photography, and start taking pictures of people once in a while. SLRs are good for that. People photography, here I come!

So one of the (many) reasons that I don't own a car is because I am obsessed with reading about them, and any car that I could own would ultimately be unsatisfying to me, because I would constantly be reminded of the other options out there and second guess my decision. I've advised several people who have been looking for a car to buy. Every one of them, when they bought the car they wanted, stopped looking. It amazed me, that they were able to stop, just like that ( ... )

You take great photos, just do enough research to satisfy you in the moment and let go the search for a better camera. I researched the hell out of my purchase and still ended up with one I don't like. Can't trust strangers online. Also, a 100% price difference definitely justifies buying online, as long as you don't go into favored store to try things out first.
