I am thinking of getting a new camera. I am sold on the idea of getting a nice SLR that is big enough to be comfy in the hand, has OK resolution, is fairly fast, and can be adjusted in ways I don' t yet understand. I'll get a nice ultrawide lens for to take weird pictures, and maybe a nice standard zoom for to wander around and take pictures of puppies or sunsets or whatever.
It's a lot of money. I can only justify it. . . if once I have it, I don't want a better one in a year or so.
So, I've decided that if I buy it, I can no longer read about cameras on the web, which is a fun hobby of mine when I'm not out using one.
This will not be easy. Maybe it will. Maybe if I'm not thinking "will get a better camera. . .will get a better camera" like I do now, I will lose this desire.
If they made a P&S with a good sensor and no shutter lag, I'd be there right away.
Argh. That, and the price difference between the web and my favorite store is ~100%. Argh.
It makes me wonder if I should quit with all the photography. Surely I could be knitting or writing or something instead.
Any suggestions?
