Mum Sold Me Away: A Set Up?

Nov 05, 2004 15:35

I received an anonymous call from a lady. She introduced herself as Ms Lim, by which now I already can't recall her name. She said she's my mum's friend and that my mum earlier agreed on my behalf that I would go to a business talk on Lampe Berger.

Ha ha ha.. I suppose she thought network, as in the term in Computing and IT.
What do you suggest? Network to a group of eligible daughter-in-laws?

*gasps* I sure HOPE NOT. Heart thumps fast.
Mum normally doesn't take my relationship issues
into her own hands. Furthermore, I think that missy
is older than I am. At least 30.
But then again, I can always play dumb.
Or make myself look ineligible. *evil grins*

Older than you by 30 years or she's more than 30 years old?? Welll if it is the former you won't know what kind of kinky fetish these ladies in their 50s would have... such as dumb looking little boys :P

Lamp Berger is definitely MLM. I have been to one of those talks here before. They can be quite persuasive. I remember once, a friend's mother tried to sell me one of those lamps and when I refused, she was unhappy. *sigh*

As I later realised... the new catchword
in MLM is NETWORK MARKETING/DISTRIBUTING. They brought in this
Malaysian guy who hit it big in HKG to give the talk.
And boy, they were indeed effective in their speech..
but I'm not buying it. I'm too skeptic abt this sort of thing!
Mum's cousin was the one who brought us in.

Hi Paul.. couldn't reply until now because I couldn't access the Net for days
because my network card got damaged and only had it replaced recently.

Hahahaha... a scam huh. Going for such things just because of a possiblity of winning a car
is one indication that it could be a scam. Good on you for staying put with your friend.

No problems, I came across your site through Ricebowl. Hope to see you around too,
I have linked your site to mine and added you to my friends´list,
you're part of my syndicate now.. heheh

Hahaha.. my mum's cousin called me a few days later.
And I told her point blanc that I'm not interested owing to a
fact that I also wouldn't have time, with my academia things and plus,
I'm moving out of country next year. Can't dedicate myself to this.
Still friends? hahahaha

Yeah, I know what you mean. I guess it depends on
how much a person could make use of the product
and how he/she could share with others. :)
