Deep thoughts

He's looking down at his hands, very much lost in thought. He has been busy mopping the floors until Nephrite has felt... something... but cannot define it. He dares not hope, but this feeling... this is something reminiscent of his days before, something he felt only as a Shitennou. This burst of power. Could it be... that...?

Minako practically waltzes into the place, eyes bright with anticipation. "Uwaaa! I always thought Motoki-san should do karaoke too! This is great! Everything looks so professional!"

She blinks, looking down at Nephrite. She isn't sure this is the one she knows, so she goes for a neutral compliment, or what she considers one. "And so does the help! Good job! Continue to do your best!"

Really, she's just excited the nexus didn't bring her to the Dark kingdom again, as much fun as she had last time.

He raises his chin. Arrogance comes so easily to him. "I choose not to," he says, because it is a decision. Of the little things he has seen of the human world, very little of it has intrigued him.

At this point, Minako is quite the expert at deflecting most types of behavior. She rolls her eyes in answer to Nephrite's arrogance. "Honestly? You could use a bit of a tan."

...if only Nephrite knows what a tan is. Or why it is needed.

"I do not," he says flippantly, in response to that. "Your reason for thinking that I do is ridiculous."

"My reason?" Minako scoffs, leaning forward. "And what would my reason be?"

"Why are you asking me?" he says, matching scoff for scoff. "It is your reason."

"I never said my reason," Minako answers haughtily. "But, since you're asking, it's my opinion that everyone looks better with a tan. Also, it's very healthy to get some sunlight now and then. You could get scurvy otherwise."

...okay, it's very likely Minako has her vitamins mixed up, but she's trying.

Ah. Sunlight. Tan has something to do with... sun. Well. Nephrite was right to hate it in the first place.

"The Dark Kingdom is dark for a reason," he says simply.

"Aren't you human, though?" That fact, coupled with this new vibe Nephrite's giving off, confuses Minako, but she can make a couple guesses as to the cause. "You don't want scurvy. I learned in school that it makes your gums grow over your teeth. Or something."

"I do not like the sun," he elaborates, though this is said with a completely befuddled expression on his face. "I do not like the sun because I--"

Was he just about to say am? He hastily corrects it with, "--was from the Dark Kingdom."

Minako nods understandingly. "I can understand that. I know it must be hard to shake off old habits, but if you're stuck like this, you may as well make the best of it. I don't want you getting sick." She crosses her legs, tapping her lips with one finger. "In fact, I think it might be time you had a coffee break."

Such an odd turn of events, this is. But Nephrite would be lying if he said he hated it.

"This coffee break," he says. "Will I contract some sort of disease if I don't 'have' it too?"

Minako shrugs. "Probably. Caffeine deficiency is the number one cause of depression, you know." She totally read it somewhere. Yeah.

She hops off the counter, walking to the door. "You coming?"

He shrugs, and walks towards her. He grimaces at the amount of sunlight outside the door, and concentrates and resenting that rather than the feeling that he might be doing something wrong.

Like leaving the Crown with no one, even if it's open.

Not that Nephrite cares either way.

Minako had figured Motoki was in the back or something. Well, hamburgers.

She looks around, squinting in the sunlight. "You wouldn't happen to know of any good cafes around here, would you?"

Nephrite raises a brow, wondering why she would ask him, after he has told her that he hates the sun and chooses not to go outside and does not know what 'coffee break' means.

He shrugs again.
