He's looking down at his hands, very much lost in thought. He has been busy mopping the floors until Nephrite has felt... something... but cannot define it. He dares not hope, but this feeling... this is something reminiscent of his days before, something he felt only as a Shitennou. This burst of power. Could it be... that...?

Minako practically waltzes into the place, eyes bright with anticipation. "Uwaaa! I always thought Motoki-san should do karaoke too! This is great! Everything looks so professional!"

She blinks, looking down at Nephrite. She isn't sure this is the one she knows, so she goes for a neutral compliment, or what she considers one. "And so does the help! Good job! Continue to do your best!"

Really, she's just excited the nexus didn't bring her to the Dark kingdom again, as much fun as she had last time.

Minako's jaw drops. She really didn't expect that to be the case. "I was just--whenever I talk to her, I end up depressed."

"Do you, now?" he asks. "Why?"

Depressed? He, on the other hand, only ends up confused, frustrated, angered, annoyed, irritated, ashamed, disgusted... yes, pretty much all of the above, and then some.

[senshi_of_venus]

Depressed is more of a catch-all term for Minako when it comes to Dark Mercury. "It's just that, me and my team are so close...it's sad to think how she must have felt. I know that the senshi, any senshi, wouldn't make her feel that on purpose."

His earlier anger at Mercury brims to the surface. "It could be her own doing, what she's experiencing now," he says. He will not claim to know her exact relationship with the senshi of her universe, but he can warrant a guess depending on how she acted around him. "But Kunzite could also be blamed. Mercury has absorbed too much arrogance from him. Add to a healthy amount of her own and the result is...her."

He stares at his hand. She attacked him. She attacked him. It was unprovoked. Unprovoked and uncalled for. Nephrite still seethes at the thought.

"Even so. I'm not saying she shouldn't bare responsibility for her actions, but what started her on this path was not her fault."

Minako puts her head on her hands, looking at Nephrite sideways. "You feel...different." It's easier to sense things outside of the Dark kingdom, much easier, and what she feels from Nephrite is chillingly familiar.

Of course it wasn't; it was Kunzite who bears that responsibility. It is Kunzite who should be blamed.

Before he can go on a mental tirade, though, the comment from her made him pause. Does she... know...? "Different," he repeats. "How?"

Minako frowns. "I can't quite put my finger on it...maybe you're just more angry than usual." Which seems to be very true, at this point, but Minako doesn't want to let on what she knows, if only because she doesn't want to deal with it. She's regretting mentioning it at all, actually.

[nephenie]

He stares at her for a moment, perhaps trying to gauge if she was telling the truth or not. Nephrite is relieved, actually, that what she noticed was his temper, and not... whatever that is. A fraction of his power returned to him? Something else? He doesn't know. But he intends to find out.

He shakes his head, exhales aloud. "You said it so yourself," he says. Nephrite looks away. "Mercury has left mere moments before you came in."

"So what'd she do this time?" She pushes herself up onto the counter, swinging her legs. "Or was she just being her usual, charming self?"

[nephenie]

He raises a brow at her actions, crosses his arms. "Getting comfortable, Venus?"

[senshi_of_venus]

Minako laughs, pushing herself off the counter. "Sorry, sorry. It's a very nice place." She looks around with a discerning eye, nodding to herself. "Could use a couple arcade boxes, though."

She bows politely at Nephrite. "I think that's my cue."

[nephenie]

He blinks. Nephrite does not really want her to go, and starts to regret asking in the first place. It is, after all, a chance to let it all out, without fear of repercussions - that being Mercury killing him.

"I only meant--"

And that is as far he is willing to say; his way of stopping her.

It's enough, it seems.

Minako goes right back to making herself comfortable. "So where do you live? I'm assuming not in the Dark Kingdom."

[nephenie]

He swallows, hard. Nephrite has assumed--

Well. He should have learned not to assume anything when it comes to this senshi.

Nephrite looks around him, then points at a door. It's not where he lives, but it's his sleeping quarters. And by sleeping quarters, it's where Nephrite closes his eyes and wills himself to rest, though he is rarely comfortable.

Minako bites her lip. It's good to know, at least, that Motoki, no matter what universe he's in, is a kind man. "I see...do you at least get out? Like, out and around, not in the Dark Kingdom? Staying in one place for too long makes the days just fly by, it can't be healthy..."

She is really one to talk. If she didn't have her duties as a senshi to tend to, she would never leave her TV.
