When too many Amis need to do too much research...

The nexus opens up. It's an incredible sight. Miles of bookshelves stretch from floor to ceiling. But this is no simple repository. This library goes even beyond the vaults of the Silver Millenium or Crystal Tokyo. It has volumes lost to history, books from the present, and tomes not yet written.

Ami's interested in this equation! She looks up.

"I've been getting to know my alternates," she says, with a slightly sly look towards her younger self. There are so many people who should probably be warning the sweeter Ami about the girl she's sitting with.

"Kunzite..." Ami looks up, also surprised, but she smiles. "I've been researching what we talked about last time." Alternate confusion, she has it.

Usagi yelps upon suddenly finding herself in the biggest library she's ever seen. She only opened the door to her room to catch up on some much needed sleep! Her surprise soon turns to wonder, however, at the sight of not one, but three Amis, all with their heads in books. Well, Ami is Ami, no matter what the setting, and Usagi guesses that the nexus has to be at work for this to happen, so she timidly approaches queenofkindness, curious as to what she's reading. "Wow, those are some big books," she observes, boggle eyed.

Mercury politely sets her book aside after marking her place. She smiles at Usagi and slides over enough to make room for the other girl to sit.

"I hardly expected to find somewhere like this," she admits softly, almost reverently. Perhaps she's even more surprised to find the princess willingly inside a library.

"Were you looking for me?" she guesses first. After all, it is a natural place for a Mercury.

Usagi blushes. "Well, actually, I was just going into my bedroom to have a nap," she confesses. "I think the nexus had other ideas, though." She looks around in wonder. "So it can create places too? As well as send people all over?"

"Create? I wonder about that..." Mercury lets the possibilities distract her for a moment, but she shakes her head. "I think this place is like any other world. It's a possibility."

It's absolutely thrilling. It's a living experiment in probability and causality. Somehow, every possible combination of events proceeded so that the lost books were never lost, to this library - and it must be tied to a future as well, a very distant future. Mercury's smile is bright as she turns it on her alternate.

"This place is amazing," she gushes openly. "Have you come here to do research as well?"

Ami is obviously her alternate. Ami is obviously her alternate from a future.

"Mercury," She's not sure what else to call herself, "Do you know something about the Earth freezing over?"

Proof you can never have too many Amis crystal_ami September 27 2010, 03:03:12 UTC
Ami wasn't expecting to end up here after leaving the cafe following her encounter with waterfell, so she's quite surprised to find herself in a library the likes of which she's never seen before. Maybe this might give her some answers, on both how the nexus works, and on her own enemies, and how best to defeat them. So she wanders the shelves, even climbing on a ladder or two, wondering where the best place would be for her to start.

never ever. now enjoy the torture session. :D waterfell September 27 2010, 03:06:52 UTC
"Welcome, Sailor Mercury!" Think of the Devil and she shall- Something, anyway. Ami has a far-too-bright smile on her face.

"I don't want to fight somewhere sacred like this, but you should be careful, OK?"

Ami looks up, startled, and smiles, despite her inner misgivings about running into her double again. "I can't think of anything else but how amazing this place is," she confesses. "And I want to learn more about how the nexus works." She's never seen a place created like this before, so forgive her eagerness.

I try. <3 waterfell September 27 2010, 03:20:10 UTC
At least her offer of truce is genuine, despite the provocative phrasing.

"I haven't seen anywhere like this before," she says. "It must exist somewhere. I wonder what kind of world..."

What kind of world would have these books preserved? What kind of world avoided all the catastrophies and hazards that lost so many of these to so many worlds' histories?

A large library? Relevant to Ami's interest.

Appearing in her nightie? Not so much.

She gets over it quickly though, and is soon laying on her stomach across one of the benches, flipping through a thick novel as her legs gently kick the air, bent at the knee. She could always use a little time off; the fact she's dressed for the boudoir doesn't really faze her much.

Someone else is certainly interested in the nightie. It's... cute, in a way that still manages to highlight how very much a woman Ami's become. Kunzite's eyes darken with approval as he smirks.

"You've been waiting for me?" he teases her smugly.

Ami's face took on a look of feigned shock as she looked up from her book. "Why, Kunzite!" she admonished, "Perhaps I was just enjoying the last warm night summer is offering before it turns to fall."

"Perhaps," he says dryly, in a tone that suggests he's not buying it at all. Of course, neither is Ami the type to sit about a public place in her underwear, and he knows it. So... the nexus.

"At least your journey into the nexus has brought you to a suitable place for your interests," he says, as his eyes rove the bookshelves near Ami - or perhaps Ami herself.
