People were leaving their houses more. Children played freely in the streets and fields. And a certain other devil couldn't be happier

The nexus has brought Demando to this corner of this world, unimpeded by any seals that shut Usagi away. As if he doesn't even notice the eyes or the strange, tiny differences, he heads towards her.

"Princess," he greets her neutrally.

"You're mistaken." An equal neutral, if more indifferent response. She doesn't turn to look at him, a breeze blowing the cloak around her body some, though not enough to make the hood fall off her head.

Hardly. Princess Serenity, Tsukino Usagi, Neo-Queen Serenity, his world, or a thousand alternates - she is herself. Beautiful.

But her answer checks him. "Who are you?" Demando asks. An impostor? But no impostor would admit it immediately like this. Then, what?

"The princess is dead," she replies simply, "Haven't you heard? A demon stole her away in the night, while she was asleep and defenseless." That was the 'official' story, anyway. The only people in the land who knew the truth were Usagi herself and the now sealed Metalia.
