Endymion barely notices the differences in appearance between the princess' alternates anymore. They are each her, and they each add up to a whole picture of her. That's why her alternates who've been driven to some of the terrible acts he knows of, worry him. It's also why he refuses to condemn the others. He knows her pure and good heart; he also knows what she is capable of when she despairs.

For the Usagi in front of him, he has a somewhat fond smile. It always starts that way, with each one.

"Happy Birthday," he tells her, to make her happy that he's remembered.

He can mean both, when he says stop; although it's true his world has troubles already.

He also does mean the senshi and shitennou, not both kingdoms but all kingdoms throughout the solar system

"Thanks," he tells Usagi with that wry, small smile. "You, too."

Usagi's world isn't in a bad situation, not yet at least. Or maybe it's because Elysea is there and Usagi trusts the kinzuishou and Elysea's power to hold on long enough for her to be able to provide the other help.

"Did you wish your princess a happy birthday? It wouldn't be right if I was the first one to whom you said that;" a change of subject. Destruction of worlds and tragedy isn't a good topic of conversation anyway, specially if they are just going in circles.

His smile freezes as he tries to be casual.

"We can't see each other that easily."

Her first reaction is ask why. She never had problems to go to the Earth and be with Elysea and the other girls. She never had problems with watching the Earth to keep an eye on them and everything else. But then she remembers, this isn't Elysea, this is a man, a man in love with the moon princess... Of course he's not going to be able to see her easily.

"I see... I'm sorry, it was a stupid question;" she can relate anyway, partially. As her situation with Masako is that of not being able to see each other easily, the difference, thought, is that Usagi doesn't want to see the other, nothing else blocks them. So, indeed, she can relate very partially, because even if she's the one who doesn't want to see the other, she acknowledges that sometimes she misses the other a lot.

"I'm sure you'll find a way to send the message to her, anyway. You must be a smart man and it's a simple message."

He says nothing for awhile, brooding on the question before them, thunderous in its silence.

"Is there a present you want?" The question - and change of subject - is mild, and he finds a small smile.

She hums, thinking... For a long time. When was the last time she was asked that? This Usagi hasn't been lucky to celebrate her birthdays in this life. Her parents focused in beating the present the other gave her, not in her liking them. Her friends... Only Naru eventually noticed that she didn't know when was her birthday and the girl got her gifts but rarely asked her what she wanted as well.

Right now, what she wants... Is courage, or faith. Courage to keep going on and not give up. Faith to believe that there'll be a way, a light at the end of the path and that she'll be able to reach it. Maybe patience to be able to wait for it.

"Can you give as a present courage, faith or patience? I'm lacking those;" she replies after a while. Before she looks at him; "If not, then I would wish to have as a present that the next time we meet you'll tell me about your success in saving your world and being with your loved one." There's little else in what she's interested in right now.

"That isn't something someone gives you," Endymion says quietly. "It's something inside yourself. You're the Moon Princess; you already have courage and faith and patience."

He means the words kindly.

"I must have stored them somewhere then, and forgot how to find them again;" Usagi replies quietly with a resigned smile. Not that she thinks being the Moon princess equals to have those, it equals other things. Being a time bomb for example.

He refuses to believe that. It's happened in some worlds, the destruction. It doesn't mean every alternate will do the same! And he refuses to believe their love - any love - can bring about destruction. Even Kunzite, one of them, has finally said the same, that he must fight for the love he wants if he hopes to have it.

"You'll find them again," he tells Usagi. "I'm sure of that." This is probably, again, because she's the princess.
