Just one more. One more half, one more and all the girls will have back their sailor crystals completed. Is this even working thought? As soon as the seal is released the halves would fly away before they could even touch them. Were they returning to the bodies where they belong? Or were they getting lost again? Whose body were they going back to? The girls she know or the past selves of Nabu and the others?
Was this really having an effect in the future? Would she still be able to return there or was that future lost already?
She didn't know, she wasn't sure. And she was tired. Tired of not knowing, tired of walking, literally and metaphorically. Tired of fighting, of trying to make up for her errors, of having people from her world and others telling her that she was failing that there was no way she would succeed. That she couldn't do anything to make things right. Not even die because Masako wouldn't allow it. She can get even a second of rest. When it's not the nexus is the people in her world, past and future selves.
She's hated in her world. She's hated by the alternates who adore her alternate because they claim she's nothing like that one. She's hated by the alternates who hate her alternate because they claim she's exactly the same.
And she doesn't know anymore. Who she is. What she is. Other than a tired girl who just wants to be left alone, if after all everyone around her is going to keep making her feel alone. Why don't they just ignore her? Why can't anyone even make a bit of an effort and say for once 'at least you're trying, keep going'? All she asks is to someone acknowledge that at least, without adding that she's failing or lying or anything else.
If this Usagi was like some of the other Usagis, she might have been at the edge of wanting to destroy the world just to get some peace.
If this Usagi was like others, she might have been crying like a child already.
If she was like she was a year ago, she may have tried once more to kill herself...
But she's not like them, despite what everyone says, she's not. So instead, Usagi is calmly sitting on a stone, watching the sea with a distant expression while in her senshi form. The night is well into its late hours but she's not sleepy, too tired for even that. Several meters away, there's a campfire, three figures sleeping around it, with a brown haired Nephrite with long curled hair reading a book with the light of the fire. But aside from that, she's at all effects alone.
The island where they are is nothing special at first sight, just a pile of stones and sand, forming a small hill, at its top there's a sort of cave that leads immediately to the depths of the Earth. It's not a nice trip, instead it would be a high-speed fall if one isn't careful. But not even that claims much attention. Certainly there's nothing there to warrant the presence of five people, at least for the normal people.
