"Slow," Esmeraude tells him, tone tinged with annoyance as she looks to where they disappeared. "But it's their attitude that's keeping them from reaching their potential." What little they have.
And...Esmeraude isn't entirely helping the whole attitude thing. But she can't be soft in front of those girls!

Esmeraude glares. "Demando-sama's orders are to train the Ayakashi, and bring out their potential. If Demando-sama sees it, then it's there. They can't fool him into thinking they're worth more than they are. But right now, they're useless as they are."

"Demando-sama has already told me that," she replies shortly. "Besides," and she tosses her hair arrogantly, "I wouldn't be so sure. They're not at my level. If they were, they wouldn't need training."
Actually, she knew what her alternate said was true. That was why she had been training herself, too. They were on a different level, and they were going to stay that way. More than petty rivalry, Esmeraude wanted to crush that white witch that held Demando-sama's attentions.
