Standing at the edge of the Universe

Apr 29, 2010 00:48

Silver eyes watch the Cauldron spin and swirl. It is the thing she protects more than anything else. She smiles, perhaps sadly as she stands in silence. The swirl of the cauldron is the only sound in the air. She moves to stand at the edge of the bridge ( Read more... )

He's seen her in this form, but to see it again surprises him. King Endymion steps behind his wife, but instead of startling her, he calls her name once he draws near.

"Sailor Cosmos."

Her head snaps to the side and she spins quickly. Her eyes widen as she gazes at her king.

She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. Had the cauldron granted her prays? Was her husband returned?

She took a step towards him and paused.

"Endymion?"

"Serenity." He returns name for name, slipping to the more intimate one. He eyes her quiet, lonely form, this bride, this wife he hasn't seen in- how long has it been? For him, far less than for her, he knows.

"I'm here now."

Faster than her frame belied she was hugging him. Her arms practically shaking as she hid her face in his shoulder. Her king. She knew it to be him. She knew this was no... spell, no cruel trick of the enemy. She merely clung to him as if she were the young princess from so long ago scared of losing her prince.

"Oh my king... my love," she whispered.

A cloaked and hooded shadow arose out the Cauldron, bringing with it a feeling of darkness, death and despair.

"We meet again."

She gazed calmly at him. Her grip did not tighten on her staff. She merely watched the agent of Chaos appear before her with his aura. Her own calm and warmth heightened at the presence of her other half, the other side of the coin.

"Hello Wiseman."

"I have a message for you from my father, the great Chaos. The time is coming when you will lose everything and there is nothing you can do to stop it..."

Her eyes narrowed before she smirked and moved her staff, pointing it at Wiseman.

"You may tell your father that I am not the coward I once was. Our endless war will not be the same as he expects. I have already lost all there is to lose and I am ready to lose more. You do not scare me phantom."

She watches the cauldron, ignoring the woman. It's fitting somehow that she's returned to this place; perhaps it's even fitting that the woman beside her is a form of Sailor Moon. Mercury says nothing about it. She says nothing at all yet, her expression unreadable.

She says nothing. So long as Mercury makes no motion to attack the cauldron, Cosmos has no reason to attack her. She remains standing at the edge of the the platform.

"This is where everything was supposed to end." Whether she knows of that final battle or whether she means something else, the cauldron was supposed to be an ending point, a finish line. She was supposed to be able to put everything behind her.

Her grip tightens only a little but she turns and gazes at Mercury finally.

"It is also a place of beginnings."

When she finds herself before this woman, there's an instant of recognition, despite the differences in physical form, and without hesitation or heed of the nexus which has brought her, Venus falls easily to one knee. It's familiar move, no matter how much her kind hearted liege has always protested, or that this is some alternate of that person. Serenity is a person who shall always have her respect. So as her head bows a little, she turns her eyes up upon that form, waiting patiently to be recognized.

When she heard Venus come she didn't not yet move to look at her. When she heard her move she watched the goddess of love kneel and she moved. Cosmos gently lifted Venus' chin, smiling.

"Do not kneel beautiful Goddess of Love. Not here."

Something relaxed a little, at that smile, but there was too much of a soldier still, even in this peaceful Venus, so she shook her head and offered only a small smile in return to this alternate of her queen.

"I can do no less than to show my respect for you, my queen. But it disturbs me to see that you have taken up a soldier's mantle. That is not a fate someone with your kind heart should ever be burdened with."

She could not help but smile at this Venus. She was like the Venus of the Silver Millennium. She was even like the Venus of Crystal Tokyo.

"Please do not worry so. This is my fate. When my daughter takes the crown, this is the role I will take."
