Awakening the lake monster

He doesn't like the idea, but he has no real choice. Without doing this, they will surely lose the war. Their strength is depleted already. Still, Endymion watches the lake for a long time before he makes his move. He stays grim and serious, expression unchanging. His black armor suits his dark face ( Read more... )

"This is more than a game," Endymion says, the situation too serious to bother with anything but the straight truth. "I have no connection to that creature. It will not stop on its own."

As if to prove his words, it's already circling ahead of them.

"Give him back!!"

"Such demands Prince." She gazes at it calmly. "So then what shall you do when it does not obey."

He doesn't answer directly, already in motion. He chases the creature - which rather humiliatingly takes no notice of him, hovering in the air out of easy reach. It looks around before it seems to truly note Cosmos - and doubles back to zero in on her as its target.

"Give him back!!"

When her computer blips quietly from her bag, 'Mizuno Ami' hears it instantly, and she frowns a little. Unfortunately, there's no helping what has to be done next, no matter the time, so she calls the teacher's attention and excuses herself from class. If her fellow students will wonder about the class genius and her sudden absence yet again...

It's Mercury who arrives at the lake where her computer indicates the prince has appeared, and she gives a troubled look toward the scene... Within moments, she's calling the others, and letting them know of the situation before she hurries to help Endymion. Regardless of his position in the Dark Kingdom, this isn't something she can stand by for.

Rei is sweeping the shrine courtyard, nothing special but it's a quiet day and a peaceful place. The quiet is broken by the sound of her communicator. Mars arrives at the scene shortly thereafter, running along the ground towards the others.

"What is that?!" She barely misses a beat as she widens her stance for better stability. "That thing isn't a youma! It feels different!" And besides, only Beryl herself or- The prince?!

Jupiter is watering a small stand of plants she keeps in her private rooms. The droplets collect on the broad leaves, and she can almost see herself reflected in them. She straightens up, just in time to hear her communicator. She snaps it open, listens, and disappears.

Jupiter runs towards the creature, taking note of the others only enough to group herself with them as they face it. Damn it.

Venus is hidden on the school grounds, keeping watch over her princess during school hours, when the communicator sounds. There's an entirely clumsy and un-senshi like fumble to grab it quickly and silence it, before it can catch the attention of the students on the other side of the window, and then she's moving away quickly and with much more stealth to listen to the situation. Only then does she frown and nod, before using the disguise pen that she keeps for just such occasions to make herself into a replica of the princess' mother to collect her from class.

When Venus and Moon arrive, it's with the latter firmly behind the former, keeping an eye on both creature and prince.

She trusts the others to hold the princess back, because she doesn't trust the prince under Metalia and Beryl's influence. It's something she knows oh so well, that desire to hurt that most precious person, and it's not just to protect her princess that she leads Endymion away. Somehow... it's for his sake too. It's not that she's ever been close to the prince, but she knows, knows what he's going through, because she's been there, and she knows the guilt and the shame that will fall upon him when he's healed, if he's allowed to hurt her. So Mercury leads him away from the senshi and her princess, and stops only when they've gone almost halfway across the city. Only then does she find an empty rooftop and turn to regard the prince with sad and dark eyes.

Endymion follows Mercury with firm but heavy steps. There is only one thing she could possibly wish to speak with him about, but he is at the end of his tolerance for the situation as a whole.

"Sailor Mercury," he addresses her once they're facing each other on the rooftop. "Give up this rebellion and return."

When he finds himself on a rooftop in a city that is very distinctly not his own, he doesn't miss the company he has found himself in. In fact, his eyes find the prince almost immediately, in that strange armor that has been imprinted upon his mind since the moment the prince left, proclaiming his loyalty to a traitorous servant girl. It's almost enough to make him move forward instantly, to move against this prince, and force him to see reason...

All that stops him is the thought that it is possible this is an alternate, even with the armor. So for this moment, Kunzite stands in the shadows, to listen to the apparent private conversation to take place.
