Awakening the lake monster

He doesn't like the idea, but he has no real choice. Without doing this, they will surely lose the war. Their strength is depleted already. Still, Endymion watches the lake for a long time before he makes his move. He stays grim and serious, expression unchanging. His black armor suits his dark face ( Read more... )

Give him back!! These seem to be the only words the creature knows and they pierce the air, shrill and full of malice. Endymion turns startled eyes towards the area Usagi's in as the lamia-like creature barrels towards her.

Give him back!

It gives the creature a target. She barrels straight towards Sailor Moon, almost as though she'd meant that to be her target. "Give him back!!" The serpent draws back sharp claws to tear at Sailor Moon's face and body.

Endymion stares in shock for a second. "Sailor Moon!" He had not expected this situation at all. And in this situation... He has a mistake to put right. He must put aside his designs against her, particularly when this is an alternate.

Endymion chases the creature, as quickly as he can, but it proves to be far more agile and he can't even reach it as it takes to the air.

"Give him back!!" Those are the only words the thing speaks as it turns its head right and left as though searching for someone.

The creature is too high in the air to reach with the daggers, though Jadeite might have a chance with some of the high turns and flips he's capable of.

Endymion is already facing it now, sword drawn, eyes on its every movement to catch his chance. He strikes as soon as it comes near enough, but it evades him at first.

Give him back!!

No one seems to be doing this, and it's hard to imagine who the creature might even mean by 'him'. Endymion thinks it must be connected to the legend, but he chases the serpent as quickly as he can while land-bound when it can fly.

What has he done?

Endymion has no eyes for Loof Merrow until the creature does. It flies at her, claws outstretched, and Endymion dashes to put himself between it and the innocent woman.

Endymion is barreling towards the monster as it barrels through the woods towards the nearest clearing. He has to cut it off before it reaches any civilization; he is not here to to destroy innocents.

It takes no notice of its would-be handler. Instead, the serpent streams into the air, where it looks around from the advantage of its height. It heads straight for Nehellenia as soon as it spots her.

"Give him back!!"

The serpent-woman hisses and pulls back as the energy hits her, just in time for Endymion to strike it from below. It writhes in pain between the two attacks, but lunges towards Nehellenia again.

"Stay back," Endymion warns Nehellenia against the serpent. "I am responsible for this creature."

Her spiritual sense doesn't give her much warning before the shriek, but Mars notices earlier enough to see it as it comes closer. Her eyes widen a moment and then narrow. An ofuda immediately in hand, she crouches slightly. A familiar string of words come to her, and energy gathers around her and into the demon-banishing charm.

"Akuryo...Taisan!" She wastes no time flinging the ofuda towards the creature. It should at least bring it down...right?

Wrong. The creature is surprisingly agile and the attempt only infuriates it. It flips over itself in the air and barrels towards Mars, claws reaching for her. Endymion hurries in that direction, but he won't be able to get there in time.

"Sailor Mars," he says. "I am responsible for awakening this spirit. You must not fight it."

If Sailormars even hears him, she doesn't give any indication.

She shifts her stance, expression serious and focused. It comes close, too close-- but she vaults out of the way at the last possible moment and turns, preparing another attack. Fire gathers at her fingertips.

The creatures momentum carries it further, until will crash right into Mars if she doesn't move again. Endymion tries to lure its attention away, but it focuses on the woman in front of it. Even his sword does little to pierce its hide.

"Give him back!"
