Endymion lingers in the entryway long enough to get his bearings and, he thinks, to recognize the man brooding at the balcony.

"Kunzite." He stays where he is, letting Kunzite recognize him first.

[kiramekinoishi]

Kunzite turns immediately.

Not the Endymion of this world, but his King regardless. Kunzite kneels. "Endymion-sama."

The prince, at least. Endymion takes the gesture in stride, and motions for Kunzite to stand. He gives his not-general a small smile. "I'm glad to see you again."

Kunzite nods. "Endymion-sama," he begins gravely, "you are protected here, but this world is not safe for you. There is an enemy out for your head."

He rises then, stepping in from the balcony.

"Where the hell is this now?"

She has a somewhat foul mouth and temper for a girl, the redhead suddenly standing on the balcony beside Kunzite. Mari's not used to the nexus yet, or finding herself somewhere unexpected, unexpectedly.

Kunzite turns sharply. He's a little on edge. He thinks he recognizes this girl, somehow, but surely he's never seen her before.

"Who are you?" he questions a little sharper than he intends. He softens the demand with an explanation, "This is the Crystal Palace in Crystal Tokyo."

This guy looks a bit like- Nah, couldn't be. It's a guy, after all.

As for Mari, she introduces herself as the name she's come here as: "I'm Sorano Mari. Who are you?"

"It's not like I asked to come here," she grumbles to herself.

"I am Kunzite," the shitennou introduces himself. It's usually a bit more eloquent of a speech, and more thorough, but the guardian is a little stressed.

"You came because of the nexus?"

Kunzite turns and faces his alternate. Normally, his sense of humor would allow him a wry smile at the mistake. He's heard that name directed at him many times.

"No, I am Kunzite," he corrects, and instead of the kind smile he'd normally offer, there's only a slight lightening to his tone. He nods slightly. "Welcome."

"This is the Crystal Palace of Crystal Tokyo, twenty-third century, ruled by King Endymion-sama and the Neo-Queen Serenity."

She should not have been surprised that when she turned around, the sight of Magellan castle had disappeared, replaced instead by an unfamiliar palace. Perhaps it was simply that it had been so long since the nexus had taken her that caused her guard to have fallen so, that caused the surprise. Of course, that fact that Kunzite was standing there as well might have aided in her confusion; the nexus had never bothered with the shitennou before. Venus' brow furrowed and she eyed the man closely, wondering whether the nexus had truly taken them both, or if it was another Kunzite she now faced, and stepped forward after a moment. There was only one way to find out.

"Kunzite..."

The shitennou turned at the sound of that familiar voice. "Venus," he greets her with gentle surprise. "Did you need something else?"

He steps closer.

A different Kunzite after all then. Apparently she had just missed herself, which was a thought she was almost glad of. It still hurt sometimes, to think that so many other alternates had protected the senshi far better than she herself had managed. Instead of getting caught up in that thought, however, Venus shook her head at the shitennou, offering a small smile.

"I'm not that Venus."

"So I see now," he answers, taking note in the difference of age. He bows politely, one hand to his chest. "I apologize. You've come because of the nexus?"

"Kunzite," she said behind the General. "You must remain calm," she said as she stood with the grace of her position. So, she was repeating history in the search for the Phantom. How quaint of the Nexus. Still, she was grateful to be with the General closest to her world and time than most of the others had been.

"I have faith in everyone."

The shitennou turns at the sound of that voice, and his eyes widen just a little. "Serenity-sama." He kneels immediately. Something was different about this alternate of the Neo-Queen. She was even more beautiful and graceful than she was now.

She moved and gently tilted up the shitennou's chin, smiling gently. "Rise, General," she soothed.

He stood slowly, eyes caught in hers. He lowered them again, feeling somehow ashamed of himself. There was another bow of politeness, and he slipped easily back into that role of loyal general, perfectly business-like.

"You are not the Serenity of this world," he observes. "You've come because of the nexus?"
