Is he not awake even now? The man in front of him has features Zoisite would recognize anywhere, but they seem so out of place with that quiet demeanor and timidity. He tries to make his head stay in one place long enough to focus and find the answer, but in the end he gives up and asks.

"Who are you?" His own voice is soft, too; gentle even if not timid.

Shin. Not a name he knows; he hasn't even heard it before. Kunzite has never spoken of those days and Zoisite was never in a position to hear the few times the name was spoken by Chiba Mamoru.

"You resemble Kunzite greatly," he says, unable to ignore that nagging familiarity. If only Kunzite truly still had Shin's feelings.

When the Venusian Thief found herself in a strange room with four bodies lying on marble slabs, instead of the show room of the rich gentleman's house she'd been breaking into, she was understandably confused. There was a quick turn as she moved to look at the door she'd come through, but it was gone somehow, and she blinked. This... was very, very wrong. Narrowing her eyes, the thief moved slowly around the room, gazing at each body in turn... until she came to the last one... That silver haired man laid out upon the marble... What was this? Some kind of trick? And yet, she couldn't bring herself to attack yet, because this seemed far too real... far too strange... and, as always, the there was something familiar about the man, as if she'd known in some way other than an enemy...

"Captain...?"

Zoisite peers up at the girl who's suddenly appeared in front of him. Her? No; halfway in dreams still, he must remind himself she can only be an alternate. Still, he knows her. He knows her very well.

"Venus?" His mind should be telling him it's dangerous for her to be here, but instead he focuses all his efforts on sitting up after all, slowly and carefully.

The voice was wrong, somehow, but it could have been just that she was used to his strong shout, yelling at her across the battlefield. This time... he sounded weak, and it was a strange feeling to her, making her heart flutter in what felt almost like apprehension. Surprised at herself, Venus knew she couldn't let him see it, and so she took a step back, giving him a haughty look from behind her mask.

"It looks like you won't be catching me this time, Captain," she told him with a smirk.

If he were in full command of his wits, he'd note the small things immediately. As it is, the word 'captain' finally insists upon his attention.

"You are mistaken," he tells her. "I am no captain." He is hardly in a position to explain alternates and the nexus right now. Zoisite finally reaches a sitting position, where he tilts his head back, as if it's still hard to support.

There was only one explanation for the change in scenery from her bedroom to this strange room that seemed set for a funeral, but that didn't change the panic that welled up deep within her when her eyes set upon the body of the man she loved laid out so. Her eyes widened, her heart sped, and without a thought to her state of dress, Venus ran to Zoisite's side, her nightgown fluttering with the quick movement. Then, she was reaching for his hand with one of her own, the other reaching for his forehead.

"Zoisite!"

He thinks he must still be dreaming. It certainly feels real, but he cannot imagine Venus so concerned for him; not by the end. When she reaches for him, he instinctively puts up his arm to block her way, confused.

"Venus." He searches for what he should be connecting to her. "You have come from the nexus?"

"Mmm," she nodded, suppressing any hurt feelings at his block, and instead smoothly taking hold of his arm and lowering it gently. With one arm, she kept his in place, and she reached again for his forehead, concern written across her face. The panic she still felt she would not let show.

"What happened? Are you alright?"

"I don't remember it." He frowns; those words are disturbing on many levels. But he truly cannot recall what happened. He remembers normal days, normal nights, and then- the prison of a long nightmare until he'd finally been called out of it.
