Dream a little dream of me

The priest of Elysion prays far below the surface, in the hidden temple where the Golden Kingdom once stood. He keeps his eyes closed and hands folded as he seeks out one dream in particular, but strays through the dreams of many.

Every night in my dreams I see you, I hear you. neomoonrising November 19 2009, 09:58:38 UTC
For Usagi Chiba it had been a day like any other. She'd followed the normal routine: get up, get ready, go to school, come home, do schoolwork, spend time with her friends, chastise a few criminals, go home, eat dinner, get ready for bed, and then go to sleep. It's been this way through her high school career and it's unlikely to change now that college is looming just around the corner. It's her lot in life and she's come to accept this fact. Her drams; however, have been the same empty haunting dream she's experienced ever since she was about thirteen years old. This night was no exception ( ... )

But he's there this time. He steps out as if he's always been there, as if there's never been a separation between them at all. He approaches her with a somber expression, but he holds out a hand to her, extending it outward for her to take and touch.

"Maiden. Your dream has become this sad." It makes him sad as well. He doesn't know the reason for it, but he knows her tears.

(ooc: aha, absolutely no worries ♥ this'll be fun. and i get veeeery tl'dr at times, too)

I'm ignoring that it managed to flip to the wrong icon, so help me. neomoonrising November 19 2009, 10:07:25 UTC
He appears, in answer to her call just the way she'd always dreamed he would. It's safe to say that after all this time she was expecting this. His very appearance has sent her stumbling, and she takes a precious moment try and gather together her composure. Was it really him? This wasn't some cruel, evil trcik to get her hopes up was it?

"Helios? Is it really..." She trails off as his words hit home. Her dream has become sad, through no one's fault but her own. She'd let them become sad, so wrapped up in herself she hadn't even thought about the effect it would have on him.

"Helios, I'm sorry." She hesitates for a small moment before reaching out her hand to him, placing their palms together in a simple but timeless gesture. It really was him. He was here, and tonight at least she wouldn't be alone.

(ooc: much adoration is heaped on your head. This should be fun though, I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure I'll run out of tl;dr eventually.)

He quickly reassures her. It's him. Apologies aren't necessary. He is here.

"I have been waiting for the day I would see you," he tells her. "Here in your dream. You have truly become the maiden and lady I desperately sought." He presses his hand to hers, and smiles a gentle smile he means to be comforting.

The dream starts off happy, a little girl with her parents, the face of the mother blurred, never focused. The little girl is happy, both her hands taken by her parents, the adults swinging her along as they walk through a sunny park. It's a perfect day, papa, mama and little Hotaru too. Papa even has a smile on his face, ruffling her hair as she swats his hands away, giggling.

And then it changes.

In an instant, the sky clouds over, the bright yellow suns obscured by clouds. The park empties, dead leaves skittering along the path and Hotaru spins, crying out for her mama, for papa, both seeming to have disappeared. They don't answer, though there's a ghostly laugh, the sounds sending shivers up her spine as she turns to try and find it.

"MAMA?! PAPA?!"Looking down, Hotaru screams, arms glinting with fine silver metal cables. A soft hum starts as her hands raise, feeling the skin of her cheeks. Panic rises at the texture, warm soft skin giving way to hard cold metal, smooth and perfect until it reaches her nose where it returns to ( ... )

It began as a beautiful dream, to change into such a nightmare. It's not the first the denizen of dreams has seen, but he hurries to its source. A whinny breaks the quiet, and a white winged horse with a long horn puts itself between Hotaru and the approaching mass or people. It paws fretfully at the ground as it folds its wings. There is someone who will protect her.

It all starts out as a happy dream. You know, the happy dream where you have unlimited playtime in your favourite arcade hall with that cute girl working there playing with you.. That's the best way to live, right? Minoru loves these dreams. They're only secondary to the dreams in which he wins the national talent show, really.

But then it changes. The arcade hall starts changing its shape, giant pillars and walls rising up out of nowhere. Minoru can't make out much more aside from the pillars and walls before fire errupts from nowhere, from everywhere. He desperately looks around for an exit, because being burned alive in his dreams while he could be playing videogames with a cute girl instead is Do Not Want!

But why does this feel so familiar, like he has seen it before? He starts coughing, the smoke is getting too thick. Then something - someone? - appears in the distance, almost like it's reaching out for him. Then, before everything goes black, there's one soul-pierching male scream.

"Venus! When Minoru is able to see things ( ... )

A strangely-clothed man in religious robes stands in the doorway of the classroom. His white hair is perhaps not entirely strange, but the horn protruding from his forehead certainly is. He enters the room and looks at Minoru as though puzzled. The 'resemblance' to Venus is strong (and something, maybe the lingering effects of that earlier dream even if he hadn't been there, tells him this is important) but...

"Who are you?"

The landscape of the dream was familiar, almost eerily so. It was far different now though, the undertones much darker than they had been before. The fact that something was very wrong, probably wouldn't register to Helios until it was far too late.

The figure inside was familiar but strange at the same time, which might lead to even more confusion for someone who wasn't familiar with Wicked Lady.

What will you do Helios? It's so familiar yet strange and wrong at the same time. It couldn't be because she was... no certainly it wasn't that!

He senses it immediately. It's her, but changed. He's seen her grown into an adult with false magic before, but this... This is different even from that. He comes in his true form, a white-haired boy, but he stays a few feet away as he watches her.

"Maiden?"

She turns, a wicked smile curving her lips as she watches him. So he was finally here was he? This should prove to be an interesting bit of amusement. It's a while before she answers, voice purring and husky when she finally does so. All she says are five little words, but there's quite a bit of meaning to them.

"There is no Maiden here."

He keeps his eyes firmly fixed on her, solemn. He shakes his head. Clearly, she has not forgotten, but then what has done this? This is something wrong.

"Maiden," he calls her again, because that is who she is, who he has always sought, "Can you not see around you? This true dream of yours is altered only slightly. You are yourself."

How's this for a dream? A floating stadium in the middle of a huge city. One and a half million people screaming at the top of their lungs in the stands and holding up signs with various odd symbols: mushrooms, flowers, lightning bolts and...some random...ink blot. maybe. Giant screens and speakers echo loudly, causing the crowd to go even more wild as the lights go on.

"POKEMON STADIUM!! ARE YOU ALL READY...TO BRAWL!?" What looks to be some kind of a force field appears around the field before seemingly dissipating. "BRING OUT THE FIGHTERS FOR THE SMASH BROTHERS' FOUR-WAY BRAWL!!"

The crowd loses it at the announcement, screaming so loud that they can surely be heard in the next city over. And on the field, as if by magic, four golden statues appear on the platforms, glowing brightly before transforming into, respectively, dinosaur coming out of flames, very scared plumber coming out of a pipe, a...pink...thing....coming out of a tiny ball...and lastly, but of course not least, a pink ribboned silhouette that transforms into...a ... )

Oh... my...

The violence of the dream surprises him, with the dream being hers. He knows her well; or had thought he did. He even knows the part of her that ran from fights at first.

Be that as it may, he cannot approach her until the... brawl?... ends; one more spectator has been added to the crowd, and it's a white-haired boy.

Yes, the brawl. The apex of everyone's existence in this universe. Welcome to the World of Trophies, Helios. If you think you're going deaf from the crowd, you just might be!

The fight starts and it is indeed brutal. The dinosaur is just chasing the plumber for some reason, seemingly oblivious to Sailor Moon or pink thing. This, of course, leaves those two to start fighting, and fight they do. Fortunately, Sailor Moon's size is helping her not be thrown too hard by the pink thing's attacks, somewhat, as is the fact that an item - a fan of all things - has randomly dropped down and Sailor Moon has grabbed it. So, the pink thing is now being mercilessly slapped.

Then, all of a sudden, something drops near the plumber...

He's used to the strangest of dreams. After recovering from his early surprise that it's hers, Helios watches calmly; he has no choice if he hopes to speak with her later.

A few spectators near him shout and cheer and groan as they watch the match, depending on their views, and he quietly asks one for an explanation when there's finally a calm moment, saying that it's his first time watching one.
