A day's work

Sailor A (easily recognizable as Sailor Mercury with a very old fuku) calmly stares down a charging youma until it reaches the exact point she's set up a chain of mild explosives. It rears back from the blast as they're triggered, giving her the chance she needs ( Read more... )

The transition between her own world and this is rather abrupt, especially considering that this place is far different than the luxurious gardens she and Zoisite had been occupying. The sensation is not unfamiliar, but she frowns nonetheless and transforms as she catches sight of an old enemy facing off against Mercury. Before she can help, however, the other senshi has finished it off. Well, at least Mercury is proficient. That bodes well for this world. When the blue haired girl turns to run off, Venus calls out for her attention.

"Mercury. That was well done."

She turns around. Sailor A looks at Venus for some time. She recognizes her as the masked girl from the other day, or at least a version of her.

"Are you a senshi?" she asks even though she knows the answer. "No, what I meant to ask is, what is your mission here?"

There's an appraising look at the question. It's a good question to ask, when dealing with this nexus of worlds, so she nods to the younger girl slowly. She doesn't know anything about this world, but there should at least be one universal thing, in her mind.

"I am Sailor Venus, leader of the sailor senshi." Moving slowly, as not to give off any trace of aggression, she walks closer. "I have no mission here. Only my duty to protect Princess Serenity."

She understands from what she's been told in the nexus so far, vaguely, that her mission is also to find and protect her princess. So how can that Masked Wind call this a traitor?

Could it be the different worlds? She's had to accept that they exist by now, of course. It would explain why one Venus seems to have the same mission as her and one may not. Of course, it also leaves open the possibility that Masked Wind is working for the enemy there. Really, she just can't say what to believe - yet.

Outwardly, she only nods, keeping her eyes on Venus as the other senshi approaches.

"I'm supposed to look for the princess, too," she says. "But until the day I can find her, I've been protecting the people from these creatures."

One hand is outstretched and the words 'Star Gentle Uterus' almost to her lips before she sees the youma seemingly dissolve into thin air. This must be a weak enemy, she can sort of sense that much, but the attack itself was still impressive.

Sailorstarmaker's hand drops and she turns. "Mercury!" she calls out, coming closer.

She understands she's meant to be Mercury. 'Sailor A' is just a facade she's adopted until she can find the other senshi - or find a way to explain everything to them, if she thinks of Usagi. So she turns around, but her face is still serious, inscrutable.

"Who are you?" she asks first.

Starmaker is pretty tall, especially with those boots. And with that serious expression in addition, she looks a little imposing. She lifts her left hand across in by her right cheek in a pose.

"The vagabond shooting star, from Kinmokusei, Sailorstarmaker. We're the same."

She's never heard of it. But that outfit, and the words, are suggestive.

"A sailor senshi? Then, please, are you one of the ones I'm looking for?"

Youma! Sailormoon panics for just a moment as she sees it. There shouldn't be anymore youma! There's peace now. What--

Oh, wrong world. But there--

"Am--Sailormercury!"

Sailormoon runs towards her friend even as the youma's dissolved. "That was amazing!" she says brightly and with a wide smile.

"Tsukino-san!" She corrects herself immediately: "No, Sailormoon." Sailor 'A' finds a small smile for the other girl who somehow shares her destiny in some other reality.

"Are you alright? You weren't hurt, were you?" she asks, worried.

Sailormoon gives the other a slightly surprised look. "Mn," she answers with a smile, shaking her head a little. She glances around herself cautiously, then leans in just a bit as if to share a secret, one finger to her lips. "You can call me Usagi-chan," she invites, before straightening with a grin. "Of course I'm Sailormoon~! Ohoho~!" She giggles then, regaining her normal demeanor. "Anyway, that was really good, Mercury!"

She nods, smiling. She's a little more comfortable with the nexus these days. "Usagi-chan, then," she agrees.

"Ah, but, fighting that youma, that was just what I've decided to do until I can find the others."

Leaning against a wall, Makoto hasn't lifted a finger to help. Why should she? This world's Mercury has everything well in hand.

As the girl turns to flee, Makoto pushes herself away from the wall, offering a slow clap as she takes two steps, blocking the street and crossing her arms. "Not exactly what anyone would expect, and you would have been screwed if it hadn't stepped into the right spot, but..." She lifts her chin a bit. "Not bad."

...

"For a beginner."

She is a beginner. Maybe that's why Ami seems a bit embarrassed rather than offended.

"I know I have a long way to go," she says mildly. She glances up - very up, she notices this girl is very tall - at Makoto.

"But I'm sorry, have we met somewhere before?" It's the first Makoto she's ever met. She hasn't transferred yet in Ami's world.

"Tch." Makoto looks around and her nose wrinkles before she shakes her head. "I doubt we have. You wouldn't be doing this alone if that were the case." She kicks some of the remaining youma dust up and shakes her head. "It's far too early for a Sailor Mercury to be out alone, anyway. If you hadn't been lucky, you would have been killed."

Oddly, she sounds more irritated over Ami's perceived clumsiness in setting up the trap than the possibility of her getting killed.

'Sailor A' - or Mercury, as she sees little point going by her other alias here - looks troubled as she glances back towards where the traps had been. They are clumsy, adequate for a first effort but 'adequate first effort' is not particularly impressive.

"That may be, but... I'm the only one there is right now," she says. "I understand there are other sailor senshi, but I'm still looking for them." Aside from Usagi. That's a different problem, and not even the obvious one:

"And I'm not sure how to explain everything to them yet. It all sounds unbelievable."
