A day's work

Sailor A (easily recognizable as Sailor Mercury with a very old fuku) calmly stares down a charging youma until it reaches the exact point she's set up a chain of mild explosives. It rears back from the blast as they're triggered, giving her the chance she needs ( Read more... )

The transition between her own world and this is rather abrupt, especially considering that this place is far different than the luxurious gardens she and Zoisite had been occupying. The sensation is not unfamiliar, but she frowns nonetheless and transforms as she catches sight of an old enemy facing off against Mercury. Before she can help, however, the other senshi has finished it off. Well, at least Mercury is proficient. That bodes well for this world. When the blue haired girl turns to run off, Venus calls out for her attention.

"Mercury. That was well done."

She turns around. Sailor A looks at Venus for some time. She recognizes her as the masked girl from the other day, or at least a version of her.

"Are you a senshi?" she asks even though she knows the answer. "No, what I meant to ask is, what is your mission here?"

There's an appraising look at the question. It's a good question to ask, when dealing with this nexus of worlds, so she nods to the younger girl slowly. She doesn't know anything about this world, but there should at least be one universal thing, in her mind.

"I am Sailor Venus, leader of the sailor senshi." Moving slowly, as not to give off any trace of aggression, she walks closer. "I have no mission here. Only my duty to protect Princess Serenity."

She understands from what she's been told in the nexus so far, vaguely, that her mission is also to find and protect her princess. So how can that Masked Wind call this a traitor?

Could it be the different worlds? She's had to accept that they exist by now, of course. It would explain why one Venus seems to have the same mission as her and one may not. Of course, it also leaves open the possibility that Masked Wind is working for the enemy there. Really, she just can't say what to believe - yet.

Outwardly, she only nods, keeping her eyes on Venus as the other senshi approaches.

"I'm supposed to look for the princess, too," she says. "But until the day I can find her, I've been protecting the people from these creatures."

'Looking' for the princess. It's a curious, and almost worrisome, statement. The princess is in hiding, then? Venus nods again, to acknowledge that they share a mission somewhat, and looks back to where the creature had dissolved. Her voice is somewhat distant as she stares.

"You are fighting youma, then." Without turning to the younger girl, the blonde watches her in her peripheral vision. "Tell me what you know of them."

She's inclined to trust this girl, but something tells Sailor A to still be cautious and she chooses her words to focus on things that shouldn't be bad if she reveals them to someone. After all, it can't hurt to tell an enemy's weakness to someone else, unless that someone else is going to use it to improve the enemy somehow. She can't quite think a fellow senshi would do that, whatever Masked Wind said.

"They seem to be very powerful physically. There's a lot of variation between them, but once their weak point is located, they can be defeated. Most of them don't seem very intelligent, which means it's likely some other intelligence is behind them. But since that varies, too, it could just be a more intelligent youma..." She could go on like this for quite awhile.

All that information lines up with what she knows of the youma they fought in her past, and her eyes narrow a bit. Venus doesn't like the fact that this young Mercury is up against an enemy so strong, not in the least. After all, they only managed to defeat that enemy with the help of the shitennou. Pursing her lips, she finally turns back to the other senshi.

"They are guided by a witch known as Beryl, who seeks to harness the power of an evil entity called Metallia. You cannot defeat them alone, Mercury." There's another pause, as she eyes her closely. It's very telling that she hadn't recognized Venus. "The other senshi?"

"I understand they exist, so I've been looking for them..." she trails off uncertainly, because she hasn't looked very hard at the one she knows is right in front of her.

"But, I don't really know how to make them understand even if I find them. It's an unbelievable story, after all."
