Enter Berthier

She's just an average (but totally beautiful, she insists) girl walking down the street. There's a light laugh at something in one of the window displays, a pretty dress probably. There's a pause by a bakery. Then Berthier comes to a stop at what seems to be a random store, a cosmetics shop ( Read more... )

Jun finds herself being swept up from her normal life (dammit she really wanted some of the cake) before being dumped in the middle of an argument. Only her reflexes thanks to training save her from being shoved as one takes the verbal argument to a physical one.

"Jesus fucking Christ!" Jun glares at the two women. She could break up the fight, but really she doesn't feel like it. Besides the two women seem to be ending it anyway, glaring hatefully at each other as they leave the store. Jun watches them with a frown, honestly people. It's just a shop. And, by the looks of it, a cosmetics one. Oh fun.

Turning on her heel, Jun stomps off, heading for the door. The nexus might have picked her up and dumped her here but like hell she's staying.

The counter girl has a welcoming smile for Jun, but it falters the slightest bit upon noticing her appearance. The tiny wrinkles of consternation smooth themselves out and disappear quickly as Berthier arranges her face into something sweeter. The arguing customers finally glare each other and storm out. Good.

"Oh, my!" she says, the voice friendly and mild but with a hint of teasing, "Such piercings and tattooos! You need to try our cosmetics to look a little more feminine."

Berthier get's a look of pure wtf, shove it there. Jun's perfectly fine with the way she looks, and no she doesn't care that she's not 'feminine'. If she wanted to be girly she'd grow her hair out and, oh she doesn't know, curl it and wear it in pigtails.

Hannah-Sofia would have a heart attack.

"No thanks," Jun says, tight smile on her face, "I'm fine."

"Come on, come on!" She keeps the pleasant smile, even as she slides an inordinate amount of lotions, creams, and makeup across the length of the counter to display them to Jun better.

"You want to become beautiful like me, right? You can use this cream for moisturizing, this one for exfoliating, this one for a healthy complexion, this one for-" This just might be overboard.

"Prince Demand-sama!" To label her look surprised is putting it mildly. Why would the prince be here for such a routine mission? Berthier makes a little bow, hand over heart in salute.

"I promise you, Prince Demand-sama, this operation will be a success. This crystal point will be ours."

Confusion isn't even close to cutting it, nope nope nope.

"Of course, Prince Demando-sama," she says smoothly. "I promised to carry out your orders, passed down to us through Rubeus the Crimson."

Well, here's a potential buzzkill for Berthier to tackle. The moment the nine-foot-tall alien materializes, there can be no doubt what some of the customers will be doing when they stop fighting. Maybe all of the customers: running for the doors.

"Oh! OW!!" Floritiuse' tentacles flail as one aggressive customer stomps on her foot. "Watch where you are stepping please, human! My feet don't grow back very quickly!"

Buzzkill, indeed. That... that... thing doesn't even look like a droid. It's not a droid, she knows that much. So Berthier's just as bad as the customers.

"Kyaa! A monster!" She's probably more worried about 'it' getting slime on her dress or something than it attacking her. But that is still worried!!

"I'm not a monster!" If Themis could frown properly, she would. As it is she's being trampled by people as she tries to go to Berthier to explain herself yet again. "I am Floritiuse and I am from the planet Themis! I'm not going to hurt you or anyone."

Oh come on. Look at that green complexion, that horrible skin tone, that hair... Monster, monster monster! But Berthier's enough of a member of the Black Moon Clan to become interested in this story. Who'd be on this primitive Earth from some other planet?

"My, my, planet Themis?" she echoes. "Never heard of it. Where is it?"

Michiru had been sensing something a bit odd and her feeling had lead her to this shop. As she enters and glances around, she barely misses being bowled over by two women fighting over...a tube of lipstick? And as she looked elsewhere, others were having similar disputes over similar items.

"Hmm...," Michiru feels there's something curious here as she reaches for a vial of nail polish she sees nearby.

The arguments don't seem to bother the salesgirl. She looks quite happy as she chirps her sales pitch to some new sucker customer. When she's finished with them and they're looking over a few items, she glances up and happens to see Michiru.

"My my," she smiles, "You have a lovely lipstick shade."

"Thank you," Michiru mumbles as she glances past her to see that she's not doing anything to stop the arguing customers and nor does she see that there's any sort or security in the store either. "I was inquiring about this nail polish, though; I have a recital coming up and I was hoping that it matches my gown" she said hoping the other bought her story.

Why would she stop her plan going perfectly? Berthier's smile never fades as she agrees right away, "I'm happy to help you with that!"

"Did you bring a sample of the fabric? I won't be able to tell if it will match otherwise."
