She's just an average (but totally beautiful, she insists) girl walking down the street. There's a light laugh at something in one of the window displays, a pretty dress probably. There's a pause by a bakery. Then Berthier comes to a stop at what seems to be a random store, a cosmetics shop

"Prince Demand-sama!" To label her look surprised is putting it mildly. Why would the prince be here for such a routine mission? Berthier makes a little bow, hand over heart in salute.

"I promise you, Prince Demand-sama, this operation will be a success. This crystal point will be ours."

Confusion isn't even close to cutting it, nope nope nope.

"Of course, Prince Demando-sama," she says smoothly. "I promised to carry out your orders, passed down to us through Rubeus the Crimson."

Still?

"Prince Demando-sama, were you thinking about breaking off your partnership with Wiseman?" She peers at him with a mild curiosity, surprised into asking.

"Won't that mean the loss of his dark power?"

"My, Prince Demando-sama, is this a test?" Berthier seems rather relaxed, although she's careful to skirt the right side of the playful barrier with such an important personage as Demando himself.

"Our great endeavor is to have revenge on the people of Earth for forcing us to live on Nemesis." She recites it like a school lesson. "We want to fill the crystal points with dark power so the barrier in the future will collapse. Isn't that it?"

Praise her, teacher, she got one right! ...right?

Flowers were never that important in her world. Oh, maybe Prince Demand and Saffir-sama liked them, how would she know? So Berthier gives Demando a puzzled look again.

"Flower, Demando-sama? I don't think I've seen something that unusual." She thinks for a moment. "There might be some near here in such a primitive era."

The only way it makes sense to her is if he's testing her loyalty. She won't be caught behind any of her sisters in that! So Berthier gives a light laugh.

"Prince Demando-sama, really, a joke can go too far, even for a prince!" It is a joke, right? Right? "There's no way humans would accept us. That's why we're here to destroy them and take it over for ourselves after they forced us out."

"Prince, this isn't like you!" She's bewildered enough to be... well, no, not worried; that'd be silly even towards their prince.

"Did something happen?"

What do you do when the prince has gone crazy?

"Demando-sama," Berthier offers, "Let me, Berthier, of the Ayakashi Sisters handle this mission. And go rest in the future. Our prince shouldn't have to dirty himself in this primitive past, right?"
