S.A.D

Even if you can get outside for a half hour at high noon that will help, according to what I have read.

Do you have full-spectrum lighting in your home?
I find using white full-spectrum lights help significantly. Also up your intake of vitamin D. Take a supplement or eat more ice cream!
Feel better.

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling crap too. Lots of hugs to you.

(Can't do the caffeine as I have high blood pressure.)

sorry for the late comment, i'm not keeping up with lj very well to be honest as i've not felt connected to it for ages and i've been a little low and not wanted to post properly for ages :(

i notice some people have mentioned the light things, i know rachel has one and she says it helps her so it's worth a go :)

I hope it doesnt last the whole autumn/winter for you :/

A very dear friend of mine has struggled with depression all her life, and for most of the 20+ years we've known each other. She's been through various therapies and drugs and has been doing much better in recent years. Her success appears to be 2-pronged: 1) She responds extremely well to Prozac, though the dosage occasionally needs to be adjusted up or down; and 2) She's learned a lot about how her own mind works and has gotten better at finding ways to either head off or deal with bad episodes. Of course, no two people will respond the same way, but I want you to know that my friend has been to the brink of utter hopelessness and has made it back, even when she saw no way out. I have no specific advice or medicine to offer you other than to remind you that you have friends who care about you, even though some of us are an ocean away and have never even met you.
