~38 hours 'til I leave + random

A day-and-a-sleep until my flight (literally: my confrontation with jet lag will be staying up all Wednesday night and sleeping on the plane) to Paris. PARIS. I'm still randomly spazzing, and relatively certain that I'm not *actually* leaving the country or anything, it's ~all in my mind ( Read more... )

PARIS! I didn't realize you were leaving so soon! Eat some creme brule for me, won't you?

Also: CHARLES WALLACE! I love him! I'm a big L'Engle fan, and he's awesome.

36 more hours, now! But yes, the whole thing was very suddenly and quickly arraned--I actually had to book my plane tickets before I officially (or even mostly-officially) got the time off :p Hehe, I'll have to try creme brulee--have you ever had it before?

It was the most random connection made at work ever. But Charles Wallace is wonderful, as is L'Engle.

It's soooo good. I'm not a sweets person--I prefer salty things--but I've had both hot creme brulee and cold, and they are both absolutely marvelous. I'm not a coffee drinker, but if you are, I hear it's the best thing in the world with coffee.

I was the opposite--I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was ten (half against, even, which now amuses me greatly) and loved it more than any other L'Engle book I read after that, though I accepted any with Meg/CW/their family in them.

Jon here, Erin. Jet lag, eh? I'll be facing off with that next week. Good luck with dealing with that.

Who is CHarles Wallace?

Charles Wallace Murray is a character from A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. To put him very simplistically, he's a kid genius (to start), but you'd have to read the book (which I heartily recommend) to get the full picture.
