The kitchen is rustic and warm and opens to a family room with big picture windows looking out onto the ocean. The table is set for a Thanksgiving

No stress allowed today. Girlyswot has new jeans that fit! I may be back after I get the six foot inflatable turkey up on the front lawn.

"Get dressed and go to Moonette's before I send the heavies round!"

Fortunately, a wave of Young(ish) Albus's hand and order was restored. "Fortunately, putting them in the fridge seems to have been the last thing Moonette did before leaving, so they haven't been too chilled. Of course, this means that the white wine won't be properly chilled yet either. What would you like to drink to tide you over, my dear?"
"Actually, a glass of punch would be quite pleasant. Thank you, Young(ish) Albus." TDU smiled as he conjured a glass of punch and a plate of ginger biscuits. "Hmmm!"

"In here!" TDU shouted through a mouthful of punch and ginger biscuits.
Soon a tall brunette walked into the kitchen, basket in one hand and a bubbling cauldron in the other. A wonderful smell started to fill the room.
TDU sniffed appreciatively. "Gløgg?" she said, hope in her voice. "Hi, by the way, nice seeing you again."
"Delighted, darling!" Amamama replied with a grin, "And you were right. It's gløgg, grandma's secret recipe. Figured we needed some, what with the fog coming in! Now, were did Bill go?"
"Coming, coming!" A deep voice sounded in the hallway. "Just met Will out here, so I'm helping him stack some firewood."
"Ok. So anybody want gløgg? It packs a punch, mind you, but I figured that's ok since there're no kids here." She reached into one of the cupboards next to the sink and pulled out a few mugs before picking up a ladle and filling them with gløgg. "Almonds and raisins, TDU, Young(ish Albus?"

'You're planning on staying over then?' Charlie enquired. 'You know I have an early shift tomorrow.'
Girlyswot frowned. She'd forgotten that. 'Hmm. You didn't mention that to anyone else did you? Because I have an idea.'
He gave her a look. She stuck her tongue out at him. He folded his arms. She shrugged. 'You don't have to do anything. Just make sure you say goodbye properly before you go - only...'
'Only?'
Girlyswot's brown eyes were sparkling in the sea breeze and she didn't care if she couldn't see that for herself, she just knew it was true. 'You'll see.' She took hold of Charlie's hand, taking a deep breath of the wonderful salty air mingled with the scent of his freshly-washed hair. 'Come on, I think Moonette's due back from work soon. We should make sure everything's ready for her. It's so nice of her to hold this party when she has Real Thanksgiving and Real Work to do today.'
