Eh, I do a lot of podfic, which is pretty different, so I don't know anything about phone interviews or how to post and market podcasts. I will say the biggest problem I've run into as a podcast listener, the thing that causes me to give up and stop listening, is difference in volume and sound quality between two or more voices in a conversation. I'll often find that I can hear the host fine but that the person they're interviewing (especially if it's over the phone or Internet) will be much quieter and harder to make out. So if you're doing interviews I definitely recommend putting the extra effort into leveling out those voices as much as you can. Sorry I don't have practical advice on how to do that, since I've just worked with reading things in my own voice (and anyway am not familiar with Ableton).

Good to know about listener frustrations. I'm not as familiar with podfic. Can you explain a bit more about how and where (as far as hosting) you do that?
