Y'know, now I'm not so pissed that my cable cut out right as they were presenting Best Actress. (I still haven't seen Black Swan, so I can't say anything about the movie, but I've always liked Natalie Portman.) So yeah; Best Actress and Best Score were the only ones I was looking forward to (and yay Trent! Now he's got an Oscar to go with all those Grammys!).
Also... Hhhhhhhhoooowwww did DH: Part One NOT win for Best Art Direction?! Tale of the Three Brothers, come on, Academy! That's the best art direction I've ever seen in a movie, and I include Fantasia in that statement! (And if I'm saying that an art sequence in a movie is as good or better than Fantasia, I'm dead serious; not only is it one of my all-time favorite movies, but I'm pretty sure it set the standard for animated short sequences in a movie.)
Oscars make me RAWR. The only way they can redeem themselves now is if Alan Rickman gets a nod for Best Supporting Actor for DH: Part 2.
Yeah, I would have been happy if any of those movies had won for best art direction other than Inception. (Everyone I knew kept raving about that movie, and it totally made no sense to me. I thought I was missing something until my dad, who loved the movie, recommended a review that confirmed everything I thought about it; it really is indecipherable. And I'm sure you know you're talking to a die-hard Lost fan here, so I can appreciate a mindbending brainteaser.)
It would be awesome if Alan Rickman got nominated for Snape after all this time. But I think it's all going to hinge on what the director's done with his role in the final film. It has so much potential--even he says Snape is his favorite character--but the focus is always totally on the kids. I think way back "In the Beginning," Chris Columbus had set a rule that there was to be no scene that didn't include Harry. But then, they did break that rule at long last at the beginning of the last film, so maybe. (On a related note: this could be the perfect opportunity for him to

I think it is weird that in all the interviews about The Kings Speech that Geoffrey never really talked about Helena at all. It was like he purposely avoided it.
And the Colin made that comment last night and I was thinking WTH???? To me it just looks like they didn't care for her. I really don't know anything about her??? But I kind of felt embarassed for her.
And on a superficial note: I can't wait until Geoffrey grows his hair back!!!! I just don't like this look at all, lol.
Yeah, I have wondered what's going on with Helena. At least Tom Hooper said he hoped Helena wasn't jealous of the three-way; someone finally acknowledged her. I wonder if it was some kind of He-Man Woman-Haters' Club that she got edged out of, or if ... well, she just seems kind of weird to me, not just her wardrobe, but even in interviews she seems really flighty. She has had an air of being a loner or an outsider all through the awards season though. (BTW, did you notice that, I think it was at the SAG awards, she went chasing Geoffrey up the stairs to the stage like she was trying to hold his hand, and he seemed to be trying to pull away from her? I have to say, she doesn't have a whole lot of the "poise" you'd expect from a veteran nominated actress in a film of that calibre. And that outfit she wore to the Golden Globes ... I've got nothing against being creative or original, but she had to know it was just not appropriate, and she was showing it off like a naughty little girl looking for attention. If that's what she's really
