you could never beat me in a boring-post contest! sayrahlynne January 19 2004, 07:28:26 UTC
Nice to see you had some down-time this weekend! I thought I would chime in here and say how much I, too, love being able to relax and read! The chance doesn't come up that often anymore, it seems. And I thought I would make a book recommendation to you, I think you would like it. It's Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. If you come across it sometime, give it a try.

ah, but sarah... your posts are cleverly boring.
::smile::

...wait, i'm not sure that came out right. it was a compliment.
what i mean is, you manage to take activities that might ordinarily be boring if the average person wrote about them, and make them enjoyable to read. at least to me. and while i sometimes write those kind of posts myself, this one was, i think, just plain boring.

isn't down-time marvelous? i try to give myself at least 15 or 20 minutes every night before bed to relax from the day and enjoy a little of whatever book i happen to be reading at the time... even if i don't REALLY have time, it makes me happy. you should try it!

and i'll definitely look up the book you recommended - i'm always up for a new page-turner. thanx!

one little warning... sayrahlynne January 21 2004, 04:43:52 UTC
I just remembered, the end of that book is a little weird. But still a good read.

I won't take offense to having cleverly boring posts! After all, you can only write about what you know. Can't help it if there's nothing really exciting or mind-blowing rattling around in my head. No big deal.

Have a great day!

i let my roomie borrow the DaVinci Code to read while i'm reading this one, so that's next on my list. i've got quite a bit more left than YOU do, but i can't wait to see where it takes me next!

So happy I wasn't the only one to chill this past weekend...have fun with your book. I'm currently reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and it's an awesome read if you ever do finish the one you're on now.
Ciao for now!

thanx a bunch! it's always nice to know you're not the only lazy one, isn't it?
i think we NEED chill weekends every so often to keep us SANE.

i have been extremely bad about not commenting in people's journals lately, but it doesn't mean i haven't been keeping up... and that being said, i'm glad to hear things are going more smoothly for you now than they were a few days ago... hope your fiance continues to get better, and i'll be thinkin' about you!

that's a fantastic book... read it a while ago, and i've actually been meaning to go back and reread it because it's been about 5 years or so, and i can't really remember WHY i liked it... i have a tendency to do that. forget what a book was about, but remember that i liked it... then when i recommend it, people ask what it's about and i just stare at them blankly. yeah. really need to work on that.
