just saw episode 2 of paradise kiss, and i have to say it's growing on me. it wasn't as slow this time around, miwako was super-cute (and super-accurate in hair and clothing!!), it's sticking to the story really well (save a few moments they didn't include, but no biggie), and i LOVE the opening theme. the opening theme sounds really familiar

how is the art for the show? One of the things I liked most was the art, and I'd hate for it not to be as good.

that's the thing. the animation is smooth and pretty in its own way, but the distinct yazawa style has been washed down (though it's still there). i think george and yukari are the two that got the best translation from manga to anime, arashi being the worst (he looks hideous). miwako looks very very cute, but her face isn't yazawa-like at all. her personality is the same though, and she wears the exact same hair styles and outfits, so that compensates a little bit. isabella kind of goes back and forth...on some shots i think she looks okay, on others i don't. thay also added this chibi style in for funny moments, some people think it's really cute but i don't like it.

i have some screen captures i was thinking of uploading, i'll see if i can get them up. i know other places have screen caps for episode 1, but i think episode 2 shows everything i bit better. anyway, it's still worth watching. :]

I don't remember the manga having chibi stuff. I only like it if it was used originally. Like in Fruits Basket it works well.
