It's been a relatively trying few days around Villa Villekula. One of those "everything that can go wrong will" sort of times in a bunch of different ways, leading to a bunch of grumping and touchiness from all of us. Here's hoping we're mostly past the ridiculously bad luck we've been having on all fronts. On the positive side, I've finally ( Read more... )

I'm on Privateers, so apparently I'm only two eps away from Evidence of Things Not Seen. Now I just have to wrestle the TV back from the other household members in order to get to it. *grin*

I hope things get better soon. I'm glad the rubber flooring does work; I was curious about it. It's a shame y'all had to find out this way, so I hope the hot tub is a real easy fix!

Thanks; me too! If we're lucky, it'll just be a small leak around one of the hoses, and we can just seal it with silicone. If we're not, it could be a crack in the fiberglass shell itself, which would be Very Bad, and we're not even sure yet how to handle.

what did you think of The Long Goodbye? I have to say it's one of the few times I could see how honest emotional satisfaction could be derived from a short-term sexual encounter. The turn to human contact in that episode seems so appropriate and helpful and real.

*nod* It's a deeply painful episode -- Alzheimer's in one of my great fears for my parents (although luckily we don't seem to have any particular family history in that direction), and it's so hard to watch her losing her father like that. I definitely understand the encounter she has; for me there are a decent number of circumstances where short-term is emotionally satisfying, but I don't see C.J. generally being that way, so it's interesting to see her open up that way, at least briefly.

Let me know what you think of Evidence of Things Not Seen! Really, the last 4-5 episodes of S4 run things up in such a way that I'm hard-pressed not to watch them all at once.*chuckle* That's basically exactly how I watch series; I'm a marathoner rather than a weekly watcher, generally ( ... )
