*To be read in the voice of the Comic Book Guy, from the Simpson*
"Good sir, I'm afraid you are mistaken. For you see, it could not have been the British/Viking War of 1783 which led to the term.
Number one: The "Vikings" were long gone by that time....like 600 years gone.
Number 2: Britain enjoyed a short period of peace between The Seven Years War of the 1750's and 60's and the French Revolutionary Wars of the early 1790's, where Britain was the founder of many Continental Coalitions.. (Caused by the French Revolution, immediately before the Napoleonic Wars.)
Number 3: The term you speak of was actually introduced as a descriptor for the actions of Admiral Drake, when he used his smaller, more agile, and FASTER ships to defeat the famed Spanish Armada in 1588."
Now, if you will excuse me, I must find more breakfast burritos. Thank you!"
You know the rules! No mentioning real events from my personal life on this journal. Someone please escort Jaideran to the door. Poor Anna - she never signed on to have her life exposed like this *sob*

Is it okay if I use your smaller, faster analogy to pick up women in bars? "Honey, I'm the Admiral Drake of the bed sheets".

Well, you've proven to me that my philosophy of 'beer bad' is indeed routed in common sense. ;-)
