[Action] Lindblum Theater District

(This will be date/time-tagged to the morning after the fall of the Adamantoise and the rest of the baddies)

[He'd taken refuge after the battle in his warehouse, the lingering smell of saltpeter and sulfur clinging to the walls and anyone in the building.  Sleep had been difficult to come by, but eventually, after hours of listening to the world ( Read more... )

[Tseng is not so much sleeping as he is half-way between passed out and just resting. He's not a stranger to sleepless nights, but he's trying to get what he can all the same. The work's nowhere near done and he knows it.

And even now, he's still prepared for any eventuality, phone and gun resting near at hand on the off chance that something will come up and he'll need to be ready to hit the ground running. Habit, you see.]

[He stood out there, the pinks and oranges of sunrise bathing the sky in liquid fire, mocking the destruction around them. They'd be cleaning up that morning. Soon as everyone had rested up from battle. Some would follow the thing that had brought these creatures to the city. But the rest, like himself? They would stay behind and rebuild. The manor would have to be cleared of monsters. The streets would have to be picked up so carts could get through ( ... )

[Cissnei barely slept. She was too wired and too used to the possibility of an ambush after an attack like this one. It came with working alone. Somehow, the Chalice had survived the collapse and Cissnei guarded it like it was the source of life itself. She stared up at the ceiling blankly. Everything was gone.

She had kept Rekka close, just within reach of her fingertips, but she didn't know if she could muster the strength to use it if need be. So she lay there, eyes half open, trying to sleep some more, but failing miserably. It would all catch up to her in a few days.]

[Reno wouldn't need to wait long. Even exhausted as he was Tseng was an early riser by habit. Today wasn't really much different. He was, however, going to keep his eyes shut as long as he could, not so much in an attempt to get back to sleep but in an attempt to stave off the day that was coming.

(It probably wouldn't work for that long, but he figured he might as well try).]

Hope I'm not butting in where I'm not wanted! cowboy_aloft April 28 2011, 22:31:54 UTC
[rygdea wandered through the streets, gazing around him in utterly bewildered silence. Lindblum had been the same as ever the day he'd been transported to that...other place, but now, it was utter chaos. Half of the buildings were rubble, the skyline was scarred.. Just what the hell had happened here?]

Nah - it's open. Might delay Reno's return to the warehouse, but is all good. ;-) turks_reno April 29 2011, 18:09:05 UTC
[The redhead misses very little in his life - he was trained for quite some time to be observant. Which means Rygdea does not go unnoticed as he passes through the area. A partially demolished city that would have remained standing - had it not been for the adamantoise. Lindblum just wasn't geared to stand up to such a large creature.

He gave the man a small nod, pushing away from the back of the warehouse-turned-shelter.]

Hey. You looking for shelter or something?

[He had to ask. At this point, while it hadn't actually been stated, he'd assumed it was part of his job to make sure their doors didn't remain locked to those who needed a place to stay.]

[He glanced up, with a slight frown.]

Huh? No...I don't- Wait. Is the inn still standin'?

No.

[Cissnei says this evenly without any emphasis. She holds a small bundle of potions and food that she was barely able to salvage from the wreckage mixed with her own host of goods.

She sighs when she realizes who she's responding to. Cissnei smiles, but just barely.]

Good to see you're in one piece Rygdea.
