[Vague apology is going to be vague, but that's how Kain does these things. He'll leave it public partially as an act of penance, partially because he's still readjusting to these devices and their filters. He isn't even sure that all of these people are here- he's been gone from Gaia for only a couple weeks, but to him it feels much, much longer.

You are apologizing to the warriors of Cosmos? For what reason?
Reply
...It's good to see you again, my friend.
[Ok now the world should be afraid. Kain is going around calling people he's apparently never spoken with, his "friend."]

[If people don't remember him, he's not going to assume it's because they were in the cycle. Especially now that he knows he has a home world.]
I apologize, but I have no memory of you.

[Sigh. This complicates things, and now he has to wonder if those memories can even be recovered here. Golbez had said it was possible to regain them by fighting, but... can it work here at all?]
I'm Kain Highwind, dragoon of Baron and warrior of Cosmos. We fought beside one another in many cycles of the gods' war.

[Getting up to look for his armor and spear now. This ought to go well. :|]

There's got to be every kind of monster in the world out there. What makes these ones so special?

[Come on, dad, get out of the way! :| Not that Kain could push you aside how he is at the moment. Or that he even could anyway, that paternal respect thing kind of gets in the way of trying.]

Kain, what is this about? Why are you apologising?
[He sighs at the offer. You might not want two stern dads, Kain, but the way you're behaving, you're going to need them at this rate. :|]
You should at least let yourself rest. You're in no condition to fight.

[Yeah, it doesn't help that Cecil is older. Not quite older enough to BE his dad, but older is still older.]
But I mean what I say. I'm sorry, Cecil. For you especially. I know you place so much trust in me...
Reply
Of course I trust you. You know that I do. What reason would you have to apologise to me -- or my friends?

...Cecil... they're my friends as well. [Which should be a biiig indicator something is up, Kain doesn't refer to just anyone as a friend. Ever.] Perhaps we ought to filter this, how do I...
[Fumbling with the device. His memories of people and things that happened here came back pretty readily, but how to use the stupid phone hasn't come back to him yet.]

[He's...not sure why that was the first thing that came to mind.]

[He decides to stay vague with this, for the moment.]
You recall fighting in the conflict of the gods, don't you?
Reply
[...except for the part where he. Did actually forget the bulk of it.]

I suppose, this is to be expected. Forgetting is the very nature of the cycles we were involved in.

Do you know of the war's true nature?
