I'm having the same exact problem. Whenever my girlfriend asks me what I want for Christmas, I totally blank.

It seems like the older I get the lest stuff I want.

I think that it's partly because I buy things for myself nowadays.

That is part of the problem yeah.

I started thinking about it like this:

What have I come across in the past year that I've thought, "ah, this would be nice to have, but there's no point in buying one when I have (suitable alternative)"

Like House DVDs when I can catch it on TV a million times a day

Or a Logitech Laser gaming mouse when my apple mighty mouse is just fine

etc, etc.

I think we all run into that and if people are gonna hound us for what we want, we might as well get those things.
