Just finished reading Grapes by Don Cherry (with Stan Fischler). For the record, yes, I am a Don Cherry fan, but I am also a Don Cherry critic. I like, roughly, 60% of what he says and borderline hate the other 40%. But I've grown to just... appreciate him for who he is. I reccomend this approach to everybody ( Read more... )

Stan Fischler used to (way back in the day) have the BEST column in THN... Pertinent Thoughts on Impertinent Subjects or something... it was the best... did you know his wife was one of the first big female hockey journalists? They very much rock, even if he does have Devil-ish affiliations...

He still does a column but this time it's for MSG, I think it's msgnetwork.com or something. Here's a link actually, it's called Bluelines. (If link doesn't work, go to msgnetwork.com and search for "bluelines.") I love it cause he says so much in so little - NO fluff!

I read that book about a year ago, it was fascinating, I love Cherry, even though he's terribly biased and an old fart...

Oh yeah. I love it when people go, "How can you like Cherry? He's biased." As if I was too stupid to figure out that he was biased! Once you wade through the biased idiocy, he's an OK guy.
