That time of year again...

So, here I am online, looking up all the beautiful SEPAQ parks to go to, I have my eye on Anticosti, it's just so beautiful and remote, I WANT TO GO!!! But I don't have the funds, so...what are your top beautiful places closer to Montreal? In Quebec, Ontario or the US, doesn't matter. Anything unusual, breathtaking, cheap-ish to get to, doesn't ( Read more... )

In Quebec there's Parc national de Bic in the Bas-St-Laurent region, it's absolutely gorgeous but there's not much privacy between camp sites (I assume you'd be camping). The Bic has the Baie du Ha!Ha! (awesome name and pretty) and some great walking trails. http://www.sepaq.com/pq/bic/information.dot

In Ontario there's Sandbanks, I haven't been there myself but my sister (who's a much more avid camper) loves it to bits. She's returned there many times and it, too, is gorgeous from what I've heard/seen in photos. Snadbanks has some sand dunes, it's on Lake Ontario so that's pretty awesome. http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/sand.html

Hopefully I've helped a bit. :)

I too am hoping to find a place to go camping w/ a few of my friends at the end of August/beginning of September.
Last year, we were able to stay at the Jackson Dodds Wolf Cub camp (affiliated w/ Tamaracouta Scout camp) & had it all to ourselves for most of a week. This year though, the site's already been booked by another group when we want to be there. One of the really important things for us would privacy/space away from other campers, but we'd also want access to canoes/kayaks & possibly even accommodation of some sort (the canvas platform tents at scout camps are great). I mean, I've got a tent of my own, but when it rains for two days straight I start wanting to be able to stand up while inside, you know?
W/ a budget of <$20 tx incl per person, per day, I'm kind of at a loss of where to start. :/
