Yet another weekend is coming... I'm anxious. Really have no idea where to go and have little fun with my kid (he's only 15 months old

When my teenagers were small, I was always annoyed there was nothing to do in this town with kids under 5 besides go to McDonald's. That's what it felt like anyway. I was hoping that changed when I had my son two years ago, but alas, IMHO it did not.
So, at least once a month we go to Quebec City (my husband's parents live there) and go to Mega Parc. It's an indoor amusement park, at the shopping mall. We spend about $25 and the four of us can go on rides and ice skating all day. Now, relevant to your interests is Baby Jungle Adventure. It's 3 points for 15 minutes but kids have short attention spans so then you go walk around the mall and eat some ice cream or something then come back again later. If your kid is active, he will be utterly exhausted. And it's not as complex as say a McD's playland so perfect for the rambunctious kid who looks at those things like they're a death trap

sounds like amazing place, but we don't have a car :( so it wouldn't be easy for us to go to Quebec City you know, I had strong impression that Montreal is such a lovely place for the whole family! but now... I'm not so sure as I've started to discover the deficit in activities for parents with tiny ones (( I've searched through the length and breadth www.thekidscoop.com just to be find out that there is nothing special for babies.
I'm honestly astounded how buttkiss nothing there is to do that doesn't involve freezing outside here in winter. And yeah I can sign him up for gymnastics, once a week for 45 minutes. Not what I quite meant...Freaking Texas has more to do in winter. Texas.
Jungle Adventures existed in Montreal in the 90s. Don't know if they were unprofitable or unclean or what but they didn't last long.
I feel like there are a few things like this in the west island (still not super convenient public-transit-wise). When the new extension to the Pte Claire Plaza opened there was one there. No idea of the rates though. There WAS one in Des Sources probably 10 years ago. No clue if it's still around.
IKEA ball pit/etc is entertaining to slightly older children.
But I must say we went to MacDonald's a lot when we were kids, for that exact reason. Also, the Library - some of them have play areas and/or story time sessions for varying age ranges.
Apparently Beaconsfield library has a good children's section but I haven't checked it out myself yet. And this isn't on the weekend, but the Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue library has a toddler freeplay on Wednesday mornings. They have a bunch of toys that they set out for the kids and every other week they do crafts with them.
toys and crafts are great things for kids, but our baby is too busy during the week going to the daycare :) I'll probably check out that library. though we yet not interested in bunches of books, just in hills and swings ^_^
I've never been, but their price list has a category for kids under 2, so I imagine that it's got activities for a younger set, too. Since the community centre goes, I'm sure it's public transit accessible.
You would have to call and make sure that it was open to non-group visitors at the time you wanted to go.
