Passport office

A few weeks ago I went to the passport office in Pointe-Claire to renew my passport and get one for my kid. I was really surprised by the short line up. It didn't take very much time at all. When I got my first passport I lived in Ontario and went to the office in Mississauga and you had to be there about an hour before they even opened if you ( Read more... )

I went to renew my passport a few months ago (it had expired in Nov and I think I went in like, May). I ran there after work, so I got there just before it closed, and I think it was on a Tues or Wed... I was pretty much the only person there, I went right up to the counter and there was no waiting. To be fair, i found out I only had to renew and not completely reapply like I thought I would, but the process was very fast and I got my passport in a week. For the holiday season it might be busier, with people organizing vacations for Xmas and spring break... I think it should be safe though, I think things move pretty fast there.

Last time I went there (about 2 years ago), I was there before they opened and there was a line. I was served an hour or so later, but by then the waiting list was saying up to 3 hours.

It depends on the day. I've been there and waited next to no time at all. I've been there and seen a line. However, I've been there three times in the last year and never once seen a line out the door. I'd go early, as in like, be there in the morning, but I wouldn't worry about being there before it opened.

Have a fun trip! :-)

I had no problems there either. In and out in less than 15 minutes.

I renewed my passport using the express service at the Guy Favreau location back in April around 10 or 11am and I didn't have to wait long at all. They had a dedicated line for everyone paying for the express service so I just had to line up for a few minutes rather than sitting down and waiting. On the other hand, that might not apply to you since you have to go through the hassle of a new application.

Good luck!
