It was more than a gut feeling. For the past two weeks Lindsay had been sick on and off, and the tightness in pants only made her believe it more. The past couple of weeks, and the season being what it was, both Danny and Lindsay had been sure that she'd had the flu, but now she was sure it was something else. He'd gotten out early; it had been pure luck, as their suspect had given a full confession, their evidence had backed it up, and he'd filed all his paperwork. Lindsay was home sick with Lucy, and Mac had given him a wave toward the door. Go home, I bet Lindsay could use a break. He'd stopped at the market to pick up some more ginger ale and Jell-O mix, and ducked into the pharmacy to find flu medication and a new thermometer. Lindsay's awake, he realizes, smiling softly and kneeling at her side as she takes his hand. "Hey, baby," he murmurs, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "That's okay, just means I get ta spend more time with my wife. Lucy pretty easy today?" He doesn't want to barrage her with questions; she still looks pretty sick, the pink gone from her cheeks.

Shaking his head, he stands and eases her back down to the couch. "Rest. I can make some tea, want some? Peppermint fer yer belly, keep it calm?" He doesn't want her exerting herself any more than necessary, and especially not now that he's home. "Just stay on the couch, babe, I'll take care'a everythin'. Ya can nurse Lucy there, too, when she wakes up. I'll take care'a everythin', I want ya restin', gettin' better." Leaning, he kisses her forehead, tucking the blanket close around her body. "Okay?"

She smiled and nodded, "Lucy was great, I can't believe she's getting so big. Gets more and more like you everyday."

"No, just normal tea, milky and sweet please." Leaning in she pressed a kiss to his lips, her hand coming to brush his cheek before she stood, "I need to go to the bathroom anyway," she said softly as she pulled the blanket around her and headed towards the bathroom, "Could you make me a cheese sandwich too?"
