Okay, I can see someone being so eager to use a machine that they look at peoples' timers and assume that they count up when they see one close to the limit. But I can't see any reasonable person being so steadfast in their assumption that they refuse to believe that they count down. I'm guessing he never even bothered to look at the timer after his mind was made up that you were lying.

Right - especially considering that he had plenty of opportunity to gaze at his girlfriend's stair machine and verify who was correct about the timer issue.

He was just a pungent, evil dick and wanted to bully women. Ass.

I just have a hard time understanding someone finding pleasure in that, especially in real life. (Even on the Internets I wonder what compels people to be that sort of dick though.)
