So, the next issue of Chara (coming out in April, labeled the June issue) will have the "climax" chapter for WA book 5. I'm assuming in this case that this will be the last chapter for the volume. If that is true, then *most likely* the volume will come out soon after that. My bet would be in June since that is Chara's anniversary month, and ( Read more... )

Aaaa! Post spoilers? I'm so worried about this kid. a) This is all flashback, b) he doesn't show up in any later stories, and c) he's on a train heading across town with one-half of a Disaster Magnet to in search of the other half.

Ah, I don't think he'll die like those poor schmucks on Star Trek. He's the "narrator" character, and the place of the "Narrator's death to Inspire Action" (tm) was already taken up by Komiya. Shouta's just supposed to observe and affect and then walk away in a daze that only five volumes of UST can cause. He'll probably move though if his parents get divorced. I guess the last chapter will reveal all that.

I'm kind of glad that she's telling this story now because parts of it are really sad, but then you can remember what happens in the future, and know that it does get better.

Oh, I forgot about them. ^^ But I think they fall more into the "nameless chilren/rabble" which a lot of villagers fall into. The little girl in the beginning of reload, the kid that wanted to get across the lake, etc, are a better example of side-kids who do survive.

I mean, let's say Shouta died. What lesson would that teach? It wouldn't bring Tokitoh and Kubota closer together. And she's spent so much time kind of filling out this unhappy life background for him. And she's mirroring a lot of things between Kubota and him- how they're both afraid to touch things because of maybe breaking them. They both want to protect Tokitoh in a way (although Tokitoh doesn't listen to either of them. ^^) Shouta is both observing Kubota and Tokitoh's growth, but still is blind to his own.

It's like a drug, this Wild Adapter. Er, you know what I mean. I'm so looking forward to vol.5. And drama CD 4. Any Kubota/Tokitoh stuff.

But anniversary month or not, I still hope Chara would release vol.5 earlier. Like, say, May. I don't suppose April is a possibility? XP
