Wild Adapter 5

So, the next issue of Chara (coming out in April, labeled the June issue) will have the "climax" chapter for WA book 5. I'm assuming in this case that this will be the last chapter for the volume. If that is true, then *most likely* the volume will come out soon after that. My bet would be in June since that is Chara's anniversary month, and ( Read more... )

Aaaa! Post spoilers? I'm so worried about this kid. a) This is all flashback, b) he doesn't show up in any later stories, and c) he's on a train heading across town with one-half of a Disaster Magnet to in search of the other half.
ARGH.

Ah, I don't think he'll die like those poor schmucks on Star Trek. He's the "narrator" character, and the place of the "Narrator's death to Inspire Action" (tm) was already taken up by Komiya. Shouta's just supposed to observe and affect and then walk away in a daze that only five volumes of UST can cause. He'll probably move though if his parents get divorced. I guess the last chapter will reveal all that.

I'm kind of glad that she's telling this story now because parts of it are really sad, but then you can remember what happens in the future, and know that it does get better.

Without giving away major spoilers (tm), I can say that, no, Shouta doesn't die or anything like that. He's a Minekura side-kid character. They never die. She only really tortures kids when they're the main characters. (e.g. having them abused by their crazy youkai mom, being forced to listen to their crazy youkai mom sleep with her other son, living in an orphanage, watching your mentor get killed as he protects you, living behind bars on a mountain for 500 years, your crazy dad making you a Toushin Taishi and also *doing* things to you, getting smacked around and going blind...)

I think you don't see Shouta in the other volumes because, most likely, his always-fighting parents will get divorced and he'll probably have to move out of the building. I guess we'll find out next month. Also most likely, his time with Kubotoki will help him with his own problems, sort of like with Saori in v.2 and Takki and v.3.

Well, I hope he survives. Her kids are so darn cute. *is still scarred from Snow Drop's massacre of the adorable youkai children to make a point about Goku and Sanzo's relationship* ;_;
