Unsquintable. Fanfic contests are only entertaining if observed from a very safe distance. Any closer proximity requires an investment in Kevlar.

Yeah, it's often far more fun to nominate than participate, but that's also a mix of my owned feelings of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. It'll probably make the archive get bigger though as people send in their stories, and that's a "win-win" for anyone looking for something new to read as well.

Mm, not quite what I'd meant, but matters not in the least. Bestest of luck-like thingies.

No, I get you. :)

Although it's cool to spread the word, I'm not into contests. The intern award has left too horrible of an impression. "Everyone's a winner!" is the motto I like best, although for the most part, it's rarely true. Not everyone's a winner. Most people aren't winners. Few are winners.

But on the flipside, if you're looking for a lot to read, then you will be a "winner", sort of like yule tide (minus any numbers-of-reviews angst.)

It's a tough subject, contests. Sometimes Bushes win, legitimately even.

But if people have fun, and the archive gets even bigger, than that is not a bad thing.
